New Jersey City University (NJCU) ABSN 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I am applying to the NJCU ABSN 2022 cohort, preferably at their location in Wall Township, NJ. I am hoping to hear from a current or former student in this program to see how competitive my GPA and HESI score need to be for a good shot at getting accepted. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, For those who got their acceptance letter, may I know your bachelor GPA, pre requisites and HESI score please. Thank you so much.

Hi there! My bachelor GPA was about 3.8 (this was a while back), my HESI was 88 and pre-reqs were:

A&P 1 - A-

A&P 2 - B

Microbio - A+

Stats - B+

Dev Psych - A

I think the HESI was most important for me, but being well-rounded is always best, so don't get too hung up on any one factor!

Thank you, your grades are very competitive. thanks

Hey does anyone in the program know if it’s possible to work? I currently work in the ED and I’m considering leaving to have my Summer to myself, but if it’s manageable working I’m might not thanks!

Its been more than 10 yrs since I got my Bachelor and 6 yrs ago for all of my pre req's. Im not currntly working. Now Im struggling to get recommndation to my Professors since its been yrs, Is their anyone here who had jz one recommndation and got accepted or maybe Il jz wait for my prof response. Thanku

Hi to those who got accepted - did you receive a email regarding NJCU offering CPR classes? If so, do you know if it’s free? I’m assuming it’s not but want to double check if someone already inquired about it. Thanks!

Hi! Yes I saw the email about the updated orientation date and the CPR class - I think it said it would be a discounted price, but it would only be available if enough people signed up (for a group rate I guess). I would've inquired but I'm already signed up for a class tmrw

Where did you register for the BLS Certification? I can't make that day, unfortunately.

I did my certification last week at Rapid CPR, in Union. It's $110

For those who just recently submitted, or who knows some1 who just recently applied to njcu with their extension deadline (June1) , do u have any idea on how long will it take before getting any results or any idea on why they've extended the deadline period, is this just for applicants who previously applied lastyr or waitlisted applicants? Any idea would be greatly appreciated. thanks

The only thing I was able to figure out is that during this extended deadline period, if you applied during by the original filing date (Feb 28), you couldn't apply again or re-take the HESI for this new date.

Thanks for the response;) first time applicnt here, worried like they might prioritize returning applicants from previous year, was also thinking like maybe theyve added more slots which is much way better;)
