Hello everyone,
I am applying to the NJCU ABSN 2022 cohort, preferably at their location in Wall Township, NJ. I am hoping to hear from a current or former student in this program to see how competitive my GPA and HESI score need to be for a good shot at getting accepted. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there! Next Monday I'm doing my CPR certification and also starting my titers. I'll wait until June to do my TB test and physical since they don't want it to be more than 3 months old. How about you?

That’s awesome, good luck on Monday! I’m scheduling CPR this month and I suppose take your approach and wait until June for the rest. I’m getting antsy and ready for orientation! ?

I knowww! It seems so far away! Did you notice the deadline for the JC campus was extended to June?

No not at all, I just happened to be on the department's site and saw that they extended the deadline to June 1st. It only applies to new applicants, so if you had already applied for Fall and your HESI scores weren't high enough, you couldn't reapply. So I guess those applicants will have a different deposit deadline.

That’s interesting! Hmm makes me think the applicant census was low? Or not enough people in this program? I wonder who else is accepted besides us two LOL

LOL! There's a few people on this thread I remember answering, but it can't just be the handful of us! Haha, I just want to get this process started already, my anxiety is through the roof!

Hi! I was accepted and my bachelor GPA was a 3.2, my HESI score was an 88, and my pre reqs weren’t anything too special:
Anatomy 1- C
Anatomy 2- B+
Developmental Psychology - A
Stats - B+
Micro - C+
Hopefully my statistics show and encourage you that grades are clearly not everything to this program and neither is the GPA. Focus on the essay a lot I would say and try to do as well as you can on the HESI!

Hey! I had a GPA of 3.5 for my bachelors and a 4.0 for my masters degree. I received A’s in my prereqs, except stats, I got a B+. My HESI score was a 89. I have no certifications or any medical experience.
I would have to agree that the essay portion was my strongest, I took a lot of time editing and making sure it flowed nicely. I would definitely take the extra mile to make sure your essay is well written and coherent.
