New Jersey City University (NJCU) ABSN 2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I am applying to the NJCU ABSN 2022 cohort, preferably at their location in Wall Township, NJ. I am hoping to hear from a current or former student in this program to see how competitive my GPA and HESI score need to be for a good shot at getting accepted. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hey what's going on, unfortunately, I'm not in the program but do plan on applying to NJCU. I have just a 3.3 GPA but have a lot of volunteering and healthcare experience on my resume.

I am applying, I have a 3.0 from my previous degree from 10 years ago but in the past year I have a 4.0 in all the prereqs plus a couple other classes that other programs wanted, so Im not sure how they will consider the 2 separate GPAs hoping I have a chance as well. I still have to take the HESI plan on doing really well to offset. I think its a long shot either way since the program is so small. I think they only accept 30people

Hi did anyone take the HESI exam? If so, I'm wondering how it is and how did you prepare for it?

Keeping this thread alive. I took my HESI last week and just submitted my application for Summer 2022 cohort today. Fingers crossed. If anyone hears anything in the upcoming weeks please share with the thread.. GL everyone

I just took my HESI this week. I just need to finish my Personal Statement and I will be all set to apply for the Summer 2022 cohort. Hoping for the best!

Hi

I am planning to apply for the Summer 2022 Cohort, Jersey City Campus.  I will start my application today. Supposed to take HESI on the 23rd of Feb since the deadline is Feb 28th. Can someone tell me what all should I study For the Sciences and what resources should I use to study for HESI?

HESI was not that bad. I basically used NurseHub online which was like 20 bucks for the month, and there are some quizlets online to look up that were spot on with the AP section (some of the questions were exact), biology was the toughest section only because I took it so long ago but again Nursehub was very helpful. The math was very basic lot of fractions and proportions with a handful of conversions  like milligrams to grams sort of stuff or cups to gallons. Reading was not too bad again theres a quizlet online that was very helpful. English language was few spelling questions and a lot of parts of speech stuff. Lot of good Youtube stuff that goes deeper ....GL

Hi, can someone please share some information about this.

Has anyone with a bachelors degree other than science or Arts applied to NJCU, Jersey City Campus? I have a bachelor in business Administration and a master’s in business economics and was thinking of applying to NJCU, but Their website says the bachelors degree should either be Arts or Science. Did anyone with a bachelors other than arts or science get accepted to NJCU?

Are you sure its not a Bachelor's of Arts or Science in Business Administration? I never heard of another, it's usually Arts or Science from any accredited 4year college. People just say Bachelors and leave out the Art or Science part as short hand but the diploma would say it. What does it say on the actual diploma?

Hey so I called the college and was told that any majors is good. So, I can Apply. Thank you so much for your response.

Hey

I have a question about HESI. How difficult is the math and reading section. Like for math is it straight forward questions or does it require a lot of calculations or is it possible to attempt 55 questions in 50 minutes. And for English how long and how many passages did u get? Also is it possible to finish like 55 questions in 60 minutes. I am really concerned about the time.
