New Jersey City University (NJCU) Accelerated Nursing 2019

Published

Hi all!

I know it may be a bit early but I like to always get the ball rolling. Is there anyone that is looking to apply to the 2019-2020 accelerated nursing cohort at NJCU?? I'm looking to connect so we can keep each other updated throughout the process.

You got an email stating this? I have received no correspondence from them at all so I emailed them today...?

Same, please let me know what they say or what happens with you. Thank you!

Hi guys, I got this reply from NJCU this morning. Hope this helps and good luck!

“A preliminary review of applications is currently being conducted. Once your application is assigned to a reviewer, you will be notified by email. Admissions decision will be emailed through NursingCAS by the end of March, early April.”

Hi, does anyone know what the cost of the entire program is? I only see about 11k per semester.

I heard around 33-35k total so this makes sense.

I called last week asking about decisions and I was told 4-6 weeks, so this makes sense!

I heard they were expecting 1500. ?
Everytime I get an email from them, my heart goes into my throat haha. Lately the emails are about the informationals for this spring. I'm stressed too. Trying to keep busy and not obsess.

I have been following the thread for a little bit but thought it was time to make an account. I did not receive an email yet, but not ultra worried- I'm sure we will all see something in the next few days. I took the HESI when it first came out back in October just to get it out of the way, and got an 88% overall, but now thinking I should have retaken it. Graduating (BA in Psychology) GPA was good, 3.8, and my prerequisite GPA was a 3.5/3.6...I am hoping it's enough to get me in.

Good Luck everyone!

Same I feel you I called today cause I got no emails and I was trying to see if there was something wrong with my application or if my application was in review and she just said if I submitted all the stuff that was required than my application is complete. My application is verified, but I can’t help but stress. I’m trying to convince myself that I’ve been rejected cause I don’t wanna keep thinking about it. I know I’m lacking in my grades and stuff but a little part of me still has faith maybe my experiences, recommendation, or even my HESI score might help me make it. I keep thinking about how I was just two points from a 90 and it just gets to me. I work full time and this is always just lingering on my mind. I honestly put so much time, work, stress, and tears into this and I just hope it shines through and shows. Only time will tell. I wish us all the best it feels sort of nice to have a group that understands

Awww @maryhamm I hope we all get in so we can all go have margaritas and just relax ???

@maryhamm @AB10405 yes to margaritas lol! It's def nice to have a place where we can vent. I'll also say not to think negatively. Don't rule yourself out until it is over and it ain't over. I have a lot riding on getting into this program too, but I know that I did everything I could possibly do to submit the strongest application I could submit. All we have now are daily POSITIVE thoughts and prayers. Let's all do a collective woosah. It's all going to be alright??

Hey there everyone!

I’m in the same boat as many of you, with a fairly decent application but not sure if that will be enough. I got the same response regarding the timeline for acceptance emails (4-6 weeks), however I am reapplying this year. Last year we were given a similar timeline and we did not get our responses until April 20th. I just wanted to throw that info out there in case it takes a bit longer than expected.

Best of luck to everyone!

Zach
