Hi I was just wondering if anyone was going to start working at Children's soon? Or if anyone works there now, how do you like it?
I start in Feb.
i had an interview mid april for a new graduate position in the emergency department @ children's hospital that would begin in augost.
i called once a week and heard nothing, almost gave up but called up nurse recruitment who said that i should keep checking my email for a notification for an offer or rejection.
during the interview, my nervous self forgot to ask about how to follow up and when a decision would be made. but from what i gather from this threads is that it does take a long time to hear back from them after interviews. so i was wondering:
has anybody heard back from new grad interviews in the er for a position that would start in augost?
Hi,
I also just got a call last week saying that I got an offer on the PICU from the Clinical Educators. They said HR is backed up for weeks. Can anyone tell me about the benefits? Also do they help with relocation or have a sign on bonus still? I didn't feel comfortable asking the clinical educator, but want to know before I officially accept the position since I am coming from out of state!
Hi, I accepted a position in the NICU in Feb. Jill from HR went through the many benefits too fast for me to write down but I do remember a few... pay is $26.50 with a $3 raise after 6 months(or after completion of orientation, not sure which) for ICU RNs, several different shift differentials, and tuition reimbursement for futhering your education. They no longer offer a sign on bonus and I am not sure about relocation assistance as I live in MD. Jill has been a great help in answering my many questions. Hope this helps a little. Good Luck!! I was also wondering if there are any other new grads starting in the NICU out there??
Thanks,
Jade

I am a new grad in the NICU that recently got off orientation (January) anyways I am just impressed at how earlier and earlier our manager is hiring in the NICU...it's nuts! haha I remember I applied in December last year, interviewed in January and was hired then, but this year she had all the august spaces filled in November and is clearly already working on filling next feb...she is always way ahead of the game I guess I keep telling the younger people in the nursing classes at my school that they need to start applying for these things the beginning of their senior year but no one ever seems to want to listen until its too late
No kidding! From what I understand from Tara, I am the only May 2010 new grad in the NICU for the group beginning in Aug. I feel very fortunate but I know that I was very proactive in looking for a job because I only wanted NICU and I think that helped alot.
EKnicuRN - I would love any help or information about what to expect for orientation!
Thanks,
Jade
