    New grads at Children's?

No kidding! From what I understand from Tara, I am the only May 2010 new grad in the NICU for the group beginning in Aug. I feel very fortunate but I know that I was very proactive in looking for a job because I only wanted NICU and I think that helped alot. EKnicuRN - I would love any help or information about what to expect for orientation! Thanks, Jade

    New grads at Children's?

Hi, I accepted a position in the NICU in Feb. Jill from HR went through the many benefits too fast for me to write down but I do remember a few... pay is $26.50 with a $3 raise after 6 months(or after completion of orientation, not sure which) for ICU RNs, several different shift differentials, and tuition reimbursement for futhering your education. They no longer offer a sign on bonus and I am not sure about relocation assistance as I live in MD. Jill has been a great help in answering my many questions. Hope this helps a little. Good Luck!! I was also wondering if there are any other new grads starting in the NICU out there?? Thanks, Jade

    Becoming a RNC-NIC

Hi, I am a current NS and we have been assigned to write a paper about what our 5yr plans are after graduation. I have accepted a new grad position in a NICU and want to become certified as a RNC-NIC. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about websites, journals etc that contains info on becoming certified. Thanks for your help!!
