Hi everyone,
I just wanted to ask some advice on my current situation.
I am a new graduate who wrote and passed the lisencing exam, I have had my RN license since April 2014. I just recently (at the beginning of June) started a new job on the integrated stroke unit as a regular part time, in a facility that really was not my first choice.. However, right now, I know that I am extremely lucky to have even found a regular part time position on a specialized unit such as the stroke unit.
I just received a call from a bigger facility that I really want to work at, and I also did all of my student placements at this facility so I am very familiar with the values and protocols/routines that typically occur. It is on a med-surg unit for a CASUAL position. I set up the interview, however I am unsure of what I should tell the interviewer. I don't want to tell them that I am willing to quit my current part time position after one month, that won't look very good. I want to be honest and tell them that I am currently working... ideally I would like to work both positions and work my schedule around it. Do you think this is possible? What will the interviewer think about me wanting to fit both jobs into my schedule? Any advice on what I should say during my interview? Any help is appreciated

What was the position that you applied for? Meaning was a full-time position or a per diem?
the position im interviewing for is a casual, perdiem

Take both. I wouldn't quit the first gig anytime soon, though.

Definitely keep both - they will be good experience!

I agree, both. I'm going for a couple of per diem positions to fill my time. Some weeks will be heavier than others. :)
Thanks!
I got offered the per diem job! which I'm really excited about. But i'm hesitant now about telling my current employer about this new job offer. I want to do both but I'm not sure what my current employer will say. Should I be telling them that I got this new position?

I wouldn't worry about telling your first job, the casual job scheduling should be dependent on your first job schedule.
