in Oakland, California..at Alta Bates Medical Center..new grads start at $46.97 for day shift, you get about $5.00 extra for PM shift, and for nights its an extra $9 something..the cost of living is high though in Oakland. Surrounding areas are more cheaper..with average cost of a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment being $1200 per month or more depending where you live.
There is a post out there like this.. If you go to search you can find it.

Kaiser Permanente (various locations) in northern california they start at $42 something per hour not sure what differential is but I think it is $7 for nights as well.

You're always going to start out making A HECK OF A LOT more in California than the rest of the country. Unless you live in Cali, I wouldn't even begin to think that you're going to make anywhere near that much as a new grad. Six years ago I started out making $16/hr. Now I laugh at that,, I laughed at an offer of $22 the other day,, it was from a hospital that no one wants to work at because their pay is terrible.
Every city is going to be different, each part of the country is going to be different. It even varies from hospital to hospital.

Here in Texas, I think the starting pay is $24/hr. I am not sure if this is for new nurses, but I have heard that the Medical Center is having a hiring freeze. Not looking good for the new nurses graduating right now and those going into Nursing School. I am a pre nursing student, so I am a little upset.

I'm in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. Most hospitals around here will pay a new RN in the $23 range per hour. Some facilities pay more and others pay less.
