Hey! I'm finishing up my BSN this up and coming spring. I am beginning to prepare my resume and starting to look for open jobs. Can everyone just tell me what was your starting payas a new grad?
At the hospital I'm at in the D/FW area in Texas, it's $24.75/hr. for the first full year (orientation is only 16 weeks of that, though), $28/hr. the second year, and $32/hr. into the third year. Night shift differentials are $4/hr., and weekend shift differentials are $6/hr.
This is for an RN with a BSN.
In my state I would not accept less than $30/hrbut in my state rent is $1,500 a month for a small apartment
That is the average rent for an apt in the DC Metro area too, but most hospitals start new grads out at $24-$27/hr. I don't know of any hospitals around here that would start a new nurse at $30/hr

I was just hired as a new grad in DC of the 2 hospitals I interviewed at, one was $27 and one was $28 with differential. If I work night shift I will hit that $30 mark. But yes the cost of living here is insane so it pans out in the end.

$17.75 base + $1 for BSN + $3.05 for night shift differential. So I'm making $21.80 as a new grad on a mother-baby unit in Missouri.
