I was told by the hiring team at a hospital I recently interviewed at that they are w/ SEIU union.I have never worked for a hospital nor a place that was unionized. Is there a standard salary for all new RNs under this union statewide or will it differ per hospital/city.If standard, any idea how much new grads in NY start w/ ? The only info given to me was that salary will be non negotiable.

The exact salary will be different from facility to facility and especially from one city to the next -- it is whatever the union has been able to negotiate, and that will vary somewhat from place to place, even for the same union.

Congrats on the interview -- I hope you get the job!

Thank you so much for the wishes and the information. I'll have to relocate for this job.So, was trying to get an idea to see if it'd be worth all that baggage.

If you are being offered this job, you have the right to ask what the pay is. They should tell you without you asking...

It just depends on the facility...I'm still in nursing school but people that I know that graduated. said that's what it start @ around here which is low,(lpns make like $12-18)...but the cost of living here isn't that high either...now I'm from syracuse a lil bit of a bigger city about 30-45min from elmira they normally start around like $30 it really just depends!
