I was told by the hiring team at a hospital I recently interviewed at that they are w/ SEIU union.I have never worked for a hospital nor a place that was unionized. Is there a standard salary for all new RNs under this union statewide or will it differ per hospital/city.If standard, any idea how much new grads in NY start w/ ? The only info given to me was that salary will be non negotiable.
18-23 seems kind of low for NY. I'm in central jersey and the start rate for new RN's in the hospital is 27.00 and it's a extra 1.50 for having a BSN
i know:crying2: upstate NY's RN pay is lower than the LPN rates in NYC.I know hospitals like to justify that the COL is lower upstate but groceries, gas etc run similar price .rent amt is the only solace.
Btw, any hospitas in central jersey hiring new grads you can recommend of ?
