New grad programs in MA

Published

I will be graduating this Friday from an ASN program. My intentions are to study like crazy, pass the NCLEX, and immediately enroll into a BSN program. (I don't want to wait too long to continue with school.)

I am a complete newbie to nursing (I've been a dental assistant for 21 yrs) and have been searching for any new grad programs. The topics on here seem to be a few years old and some do not offer them anymore. Does anyone have any advice or know of any programs?

Thank you in advance =)

Hi, if it helps I think more NH hospitals hire new grads then MA! Not sure where you guys live, but Concord hospital is hiring new grads for residency!

I second this. I don't know how far you are from the NH border but Portsmouth and Rochester hospitals hire new grads.

I live 36 miles south of Boston. I was looking at Portsmouth, Manchester, and Rochester. It is quite far a drive.. with traffic could be even more scary. I am going to look into Rhode Island as well. I appreciate all of the comments!

I would not recommend commuting to NH from south of Boston. You'd have to drive through Boston to get there and that alone can take an hour.

Have you looked at BIDMC Plymouth or Milton, Brockton Hospital, South Shore Hospital, Tobey Hospital, the Southcoast Hospital system, anything down the Cape? With an Associates degree, you may have to consider non-hospital jobs like SNFs or LTACHs too.

Hi KelRN15,

I did (this was a few months ago) since I have not been aggressive about it because I am in my 5th class of RN-BSN so I have been concentrating on that, learning about ACLS so that I can take that cert, I have one more class for my IV cert, and lastly I am taking the DAANCE (dental anesthesia assistant national examination) while I am still in dentistry. I agree, I think I am going to have to look elsewhere for now until I can gain some experience.
