Published

Im wondering how much can I expect to make as a New Grad ADN, working the 11p-7a shift, 5x a week???

I make $24.50 + $3.50 night shift diff + $2.50 weekend diff (when I work weekends).

dolcebellaluna,

are you an RN?? where do you work? that pay sounds low to me for NY

Actually quite a few hospitals in Chicago start new grads at $24/hr or less. The highest I have seen is around $28/hr plus $2-3 shift diff. and another $2-3 for weekends.

I have seen hospitals that start you off with 26 plus 4 dollars diff.

I work in the Philly area; 40 hour night shift. When I started as a GN, I made about 28/hr plus 20% shift differential. I'm past a year now so that's another dollar increase. With the differential, I've gotten up to about $32/hr.

I work in NY..... base pay was 28.xx for day shift....evening was a 2.50 differential and night was a 5.00.....(also had certs for ACLS and BSN)

Another hospital I work at is 25.xx base with additional money for ACLS and BSN, and a 4.00 differential....

emtrn6785,

where in NY??

I don't want to say due to other things I've posted on here and as they say 'it's a small world' and you never know who's looking...so with that being said just know it's in the putnam, westchester area.

emtrn6785,

whats the difference between evening and night shift? what times would that be?? are you required to work weekends and holidays??

Weekends n holidays of course, can't dodge that....Evening usually goes from like 7 - 11 and then from 11- 7 i think you get your night differential I believe, dont quote me 100% tho

emtrn6785,

those are 8hr shifts, could you also get 12 hr shifts??

how often do you have to work weekends? how do they determine what holidays?

thats fine, I didnt think it was a big deal...people post salary's in the forums and feel comfortable doing so bc its anonymous, knowone knows who you are unless of course your username is overtly obvious. no worries, Ill get the info elsewhere, thanks
