New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hey there cutie! ;)

I`m sorry but I`m not really comfortable sharing my nude photos with everybody.... so yeah. Don`t worry, hon, you can post your questions here and I would answer all of them. That would be a lot better `cause you can get other perspectives from other nurses here in the forum as well.

Okay so down with the business. First question pleease! ;)

Um okay. Haha. Alright let's start with the address. You sent yours to Victoria right? So what's the complete address I should send it to?

Next the CV. Um what should I include in the "References and Publications" part?

I'm aware that both PRC and IDP would be the ones sending the the Certificate of Good Standing and IELTS results; when should I send the other documents? A day before I request PRC and IDP to send the certificate and IELTS results or after I send the other documents?

This may really sound inherently stupid but uh what paper size should I use for the application form? Hahahaha. No seriously.

How about an e-mail address? I'm pretty sure you have one. Haha. Cause I have other questions that are quite obvious but i'd still ask just to be sure. Lol

Thanks danceinstructor! I just indicated in my CV that I worked as a FULL-TIME RN but not in the Statement of Service since it was my previous employer who wrote it. For CPD, I did trainings since I started working with my previous employer until 2010. I was not able to obtain further trainings from 2011 until now. :crying2:

That would still be acceptable. AHPRA only conducts random check for CPD. Just cross your fingers that your application will not be subject for such.

Thank you Shaneyney. I'm getting anxious now actually but trust everything will be fine. I think they are still waiting for my Certifcate of Good Standing this time. I was just informed by the PRC that the delivery will take 10-15 days thus my agony is prolonged.

One more thing if you wouldn't mind. Did you use credit or debit card to pay? If you did, how was it then? Did they give you a call or email you to ask for the card code inorder to withdraw the money?

Thanks a lot!:)

Please scan the last few pages of the AGOS 40 form. You will find your answers. :D

um okay. haha. alright let's start with the address. you sent yours to victoria right? so what's the complete address i should send it to?

please browse the ahpra website, there you will find all the address and contact details you need. if you plan to send your application via courier (a lot faster but a little bit expensive), use the street address.

next the cv. um what should i include in the "references and publications" part?

i included all the relevant individuals that can ascertain my identity and my work background.

i'm aware that both prc and idp would be the ones sending the the certificate of good standing and ielts results; when should i send the other documents? a day before i request prc and idp to send the certificate and ielts results or after i send the other documents?

you request first for the documents from prc & idp since it will take some time to process that, maybe few days to a week. ask those offices as to when your documents will be available so you can estimate the time to send your certified true copy documents.

this may really sound inherently stupid but uh what paper size should i use for the application form? hahahaha. no seriously.

print the first page of the form, if it will fit a short size bond paper then short-size it is.

how about an e-mail address? i'm pretty sure you have one. haha. cause i have other questions that are quite obvious but i'd still ask just to be sure. lol

bring it on in here, i'm sure many will be willing to help and answer your queries...

I am scheduled for the BP this coming August.... bu I have no visa yet... the medical facility where I did my medicals would forward the result (if I pass) the second week of july... do you guys think that I could get the visa ASAP? do they issue the visa that fast?

what would happen in case I would need to repeat some exams?

thank you for the information :D

Hi peeps! Anyone who's for August intake in IHNA Melbourne campus?

um okay. haha. alright let's start with the address. you sent yours to victoria right? so what's the complete address i should send it to?

so with that i`m assuming you`d want to send your application to victoria. correct?

address: when you are going to send it via the postal office i believe you could use their gpo box address while if you want to be extra sure (tracking, etc.) and would want to send it through a courier, use their building address. you can see all the addresses on the ahpra website.

*be careful in choosing the office you are going to send your papers to. i can`t guarantee that the victoria office would be as fast. last year, nurses in this forum who passed their documents to victoria had to wait for months, as compared to those who submitted their papers to other offices. i guess it`s about which office receives the least applications: they`re most probably the ones who can process the fastest.

references and publications: i`m not really sure about the "publications" thing. are you sure it is "references and publications" or "references or publications"? anyways, what i did was i provided two people for each professional and personal references. so that makes it a total of four people. be sure to state who they are and their contact details.

timing of the papers: i sent the documents, went to the prc office, and contacted the british council all at the same day hahahah. but here`s actually how long they`d take: [a] certificate of good standing: 10-15 days. ielts result: they`ll send the results after 5 working days. plus, 3-4 days for it to reach ahpra. i guess it`s best if your application form reaches the office first.

size of paper: who did say you were kiddin'? bahahahah. letter size.

e-mail address: well of course i do. ask it here! nobody`s gonna laugh at you, trust me, sweetheart. we`ve all been there. look, danceinstructor`s right there who can also help you.

hope this helps.

Hello sweetie. Don`t be sad. Hakhak.

Okay, anyway, to the real business. I`d try to answer your questions, but just a heads up: they`re entirely based on my experience and I don`t really claim that it`s the "universal truth".

Training from Hospitals: It falls under work history. Yes, it is considered as volunteer nursing and should also be considered as work history.

Statement of Service: Well I guess it`s the same as the Certificates of Training you`ve obtained from the hospitals you`ve worked for. Let`s just say it`s a "more intimidating name". Hahahah kidding.

If I can remmember it correctly, Cioman94 suggested that the certificate be called as "Statement of Service" (that`s if you can) because I think it`s more straightforward than the title "Certificate of Training". The thing is that, in your certificate, your job and the number of hours (full-time/part-time) should be clearly stated. I have seen several forumers here who were asked by AHPRA to clarify their certificates.

Internship: Yeah, Glio is right. I stated the institutions I had my rotations in and the total number of hours I had them. Worked out well: no clarifications asked from AHPRA.

Checklist or Trainings: I had the checklist. I had another table stating all the trainings I`ve attended; plus the certificates for `em. Both of them are actually right.

And I can see a "thank you so much in advance" right there so I say you`re so much welcome. I hope this helps.

Good luck buddy!

Thank you so much Shaneyney! Big big help! ^_^ Godbless you. :)
