New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hello there,

I am also enrolled on the may 2012 intake.. I am having a problem with regards to accommodation. have you got one already? Could you recommend me a place or know anyone who offers a shared accommodation for that matter? I would appreciate any help that you could give me.. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,

Jean

Jean, May intake in LTU?

Got interviewed mid-march. Did you pass your requirements already? :)

hey zrach! i missed your pm. can you pls resend it again as i've just deleted some messages. thanks =)

Oh! I was confused at that as well. Anyway, I think they only have two ways in lodging visa: personally thru VIA and courier.

If you decided thru courier (like me since I live in Mindanao), you need to call the embassy first and they will have someone from Air21 pick your documents from your home. :)

I went to Cebu for my medicals.

You will need:

4 pcs. picture passport siza, recent photo within 6 months (not smiling, not showing teeth)

2 copies of passport (photocopy)

Form 160 and Form 26 (Downloadable)

Valid National ID and photocopy of National ID

Medical records if available

Medical fee (Mine amounted to Php 4,300.00, a forumer here who had her medicals in MNL amounted to 5,300)

Form 160

Form 26

:)

P.S. No fasting needed, drink lots of water, avoid sweets :)

hey glitzdelight! this is very informative! wow, you can put up your own consulting firm hehehehe =) thank you so much =)

oh, btw, are the requirements for the visa just include the visa form app, passport pics and photocopy of these: passport, prc id, prc nursing cert, board rating, ielts, coe?

sorry, but what did you mean by processing the visa thru VIA? =)

thanks thanks dearie =)

hi everyone, I believe i lost track of the changes with regards to the application in aphra. I actually started fixing my application back in 2011. Unfortunately, I got derailed due to work and other stuff. :( The last time i checked, i was filling up the agos-04 from. Now, it's the agos-40? *i feel so clueless. I don't actually know where to start.

hi aila, do send me your email. i have scanned my cert of employment which you may use as basis.

Arggggh! Prior to sending out the above message, i thought all was okay. i received yesterday my assessment letter and states among others that I need to submit a coe whether my employment was full time or part time. My agency having handled many successful applicants before would have notified me of this and im confident they know their job. it seems that these developments may have been new issues? Since apparently most are recent ones? TAke note that as of march 27, 2012, there is a new AGOS form where we have to sign both 1st and last pages . . . . . and notarized docs should include the notary'scontact number. Im not sure if the later is a new thing. Any feedback on this?

hi tokiya! when did you send your application?
Hello! I am also scheduled for the June intake in AAON. What visa did you apply for? I applied for the 575 but I am worried because I just got the certificate of enrollment yesterday, therefore I was also able to lodge my visa application only yesterday.

The website says it takes 14 days to process a student visa so it should be fine, I think?

hi guys! i received an email from ahpra requiring me to send additional documents. parts of the email are the following statements:

a current nursing/midwifery professional reference from a senior nurse/midwife with a supervisory role in relation to your nursing/midwifery employment. the reference should be on official employer letterhead, dated and signed and contain the following information:

- dates of employment.

- attest to your safe and competent practice as a nurse/midwife

- state the level/grade of position.

- indicate whether your employment is/was full time or part time.

- state the duties and scope of the role.

- indicate the practice setting.

- state whether you work/ed in a supervised or unsupervised capacity.

- detail the experience gained in the role e.g clinical, education, research, management.

i would like to ask if some of you have an example of this reference letter please pm me because i really don't have any idea how to put all of those information in one letter! :(

this is the reference letter issued me by my headnurse. some details were changed

to whom it may concern:

re: ms. juana dela cruz

registered nurse

date: may 2, 2012

this certifies that ms. dela cruz joined the staff of king johnson hospital from march 1, 2001 to march 30, 2012 on a full time basis.

king johnson hospital has 450 beds.

she was assigned at the medical unit.

she was a safe practitioner and a hard worker with a good attendance record.

she is very professional and was one of our charge nurses.

please do not hesitate to call me if i can be of any more assistance.

i wish ms. delacruz all the best in her future endeavours.

luzviminda santos

head nurse - medical unit

tel no: +0253531

note that the letter did not include "detail the experience gained in the role e.g. clinical, education, research, management" so i guess prior to the endorsement, you may want to add:

as a staff, she was required to attend bi-monthly continuing education on hospital policies and issues, like medication administration, infection control, etc. she also represented the unit in the "symposium on new trends in diabetes mellitus." likewise, her skills were enhanced by doing rotation duties in other wards at least once a month.

hi tokiya! when did you send your application?

Agency sent it first week of April but i submitted to the agency march 18.

did you all apply for a student visa? anyone heard a silverfern visa in nz? can i apply for a working visa if i have a 3yrs+ work xp w/o an employer yet? please advise which is better. im confused... thank you
The silver fern visa does not apply to you because you are not a registered nurse in either new Zealand or Australia. I think that visa is targeted for aussie registered nurses to attract them to move to NZ. Only 300 slots, online applications only, and closes today.
Hello grasyosa,

I'm not for IHNA's intake but I would just like to know the timeline of your visa application. You see I already lodged mine last week but I still haven't been asked to do my medicals. How did the embassy contact you for you medicals? I'm really worried I won't be able to make it on time since my intake will start this month. :( Thank you. Btw, I'm also from cebu.

Hi, my visa took a month to finalize..my case officer kept telling me that they are waiting for my medical clearance even though i have completed them long before..anyways, they will just send you an email message advising you to do your medicals..if they won't you can call the visa hotline though the rate is kinda steep..

my head is spinning! im overwhelmed with this concern for vaccines. first the school (IHNA) has not sent me an email containing the vaccination form. if anyone from IHNA is reading this, please let me know through PM if you have the form so that i can u my email address.

aside from the school, im worried about vaccine requirements for visa aplication. should i start completing them as early as now? even though the embassy has not given me the go signal yet? and where should i have it certified?

vaccines are not required for visa..i have a copy of the reqs for ihna..can't send pm's yet..just please send me your email address.. :)
