New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

@aila61: Have you submitted a detailed course syllabus? If you did, maybe pharmacology was included there :)

@zrach: the normal processing time for student visa is 1-3 months. Better start as early as tomorrow:)

::::

So I can already process this even if all I have is the offer letter? :) What if I can't get it on time? lol

By the way, why did you choose to process 456?

@zrach: i applied for student visa as advised by my migration agent, but AAON suggested to me to get a 456 because it is easier and faster

Done with my skype interview with IHNA today.. I guess it went ok but not my very best interview ever! Hehe.. I hope I can get in for their intake on August. Anyone here taking IHNA's iron program in Melbourne campus?

hi katerina08. How was it? Can you share what are the common questions they asked you?

Is it more on merg-surg type of question?

TIA

@ychelle ann: sorry i cant reply to your pm. Yes i am applying for student visa as advised by my migation agent. She told me that we can get the visa in 14 days, i trust her and I am praying hard for speedy processing. If your visa application was lodged online, then you may view the receipt and status online. Go to the site, click on 'check online processing', select the type of visa you applied for, then fill in your transaction reference number, birthdate, and passport number. My agent also forwarded to me the email from DIAC acknowledging my application and another email from perth offshore processing asking for my meducal exam results. As of this moment, uploading of my medical exam results still ongoing according to nationwide health systems. Once done, i will advise my agent to ring the case officer that the results are already encoded.I am praying that I can get the approval early next week so I will have time to prepare.Call the clinic where you had your medical, then ask them if your files are already in the system.Tell your agent that you want to view the status of your application online.I will include you in my prayers that u get yours in time. God bless!

@ zrach: i lodged mine march 16, had my medical the following day. Uploading of my medical results is still ongoing according to nationwide health systems. I hope i can get the approval early next week.

@ailene313: thanks! 14 days.. that's fast. by the way, when did you start filing for your visa? after you received confirmation of enrollment?

Hi baesa! Yes they asked about med-surg. They asked me about post op mgt, demetia and stroke. The interview lasted for only 7mins. I dont know if its good or not but im hoping for the best. Did you apply for IHNA melbourne campus as well?
@Ladydee-RN Thank you for your pm's, sorry but im not yet allowed to send PM's yet but I really appreciate the help.

I'm still finalizing my CV, COE and my AGOS-40 although the rest of the docs are ready. I'd like to send my application to APHRA VIC, although I'd like to do my BP and find work in NSW. Do I answer NSW to my AGOS-40 as my principal place of practice. Although the processing time changes from each territory depending on workload, does anyone know which territory processes the longest so I will not send it to them?

I'm just wondering how do someone decide on which territory they'd enroll BP and go to? I dont know anyone in Australia and no preferred destination yet.

HI NorificeD If you pass your doucments in AHPRA-VIC, it doesn't mean you are limited to study and work there. You can have your BP and work in other Australian states.

Are you referring to question no. 5 of AGOS-40? As far as I can remember, I tick NO and I have written the address where I currently work in Phil. (Although they are referring to Australian place of practice, you can't put NSW there because you are not yet working in that place)

In the past AHPRA-WA process faster among other states, but now it's taking them long . I'm waiting for almost 6 months for my LOE. Recently, some posted that AHPRA-VIC and AHPRA-SA are faster in assessing applications. It's up to you where you would like to submit your documents based on our experience.

When you received your LOE, you can now apply for BP. It is a personal choice where you want to study. Here is the link from AHPRA

Thanks for the info. This is very helpful.

I applied for IHNA Perth campus and I'm scheduled for an interview next week. That's why i'm growing anxious each day.

Only 7 minutes?! Wow! you must have a very impressive CV. I heard that Aussie prefers short but concise answers, so, i'm guessing that you have already provided them the important points they need.

Anyway, thanks again for the reply.

Let's just hope for best. My prayers are with you.

Hi Baesa! When did u apply for IHNA? I submit my application and other documents via email last week but I didn't get any confirmation. I'm planning to send it via courier instead. How did u manage yours?

@zrach i lodged my subclass 575 student visa application last mar16, im still waiting for approval

Thank you ladydee-rn! thats helped me a lot. I'm just trying to prevent myself from submitting to the territory who has the most backlog or taking the longest. :)

Hope you get your LOE soon! Will try to include everyone in my novena. May we all be blessed in achieving the AUS dream!
