New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

@ Ychelle anne have you tried applying for other BP schools that offer 3-month bridging program? Unisa BP is 6 months, which also means longer time to study . .

my consultant said that there are no more slots in adelaide for this year anymore.. most of them are filled up and openings are for 2013 already.. yes, it is indicated that the program takes 6 months, but it commences april 3rd and concludes august 24th.. so most probably it'll only take roughly 4months.. hopefully..

Maybe youll have a different set of luck.. im not sure about the demand for operating theaters here. perseverance is the key here..

i hope so.. thank you! thank you!!

me too... I have been in the OR for 3 years now... Almost 4 years including exposures in the ward and ICUs... try searching in SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site I saw at least 3 employers willing to sponsor 457 visas for OR nurses... Don't worry, you can still cope ;)

they are still some that sponsors people out. so maybe you cn ask them. or if you want you can go remote. if your lifestyle is different it might be the key as well... perth is a good place to party..

yes I have been browsing that site for months now.. a recruitment firm, MEDACS, has been following my ahpra application.. they said they just wanted to be updated.. i just dont know if they'd like to hire me.. or maybe they wont hire me anymore when i get there.. but of course i wanted them to hire me! just hire me!!! lol!

this is also somehow the next problem for WA applicants. in case the LOE were release in a fast pace. the next hard thing would be to get a BP school. the competition will be tough.

whats important is you get a working visa first then everything will go to the flow.

uhmm.. but i have to get an employer first before applying for a work visa, right?

remote here in WA is still to be filed up. being the biggest state a lot more people is needed. you just have to go in places like in the middle of the dessert or such.. some places with not even a cellphone signal. thats how remote i have been before. anyways the more remote you are the more money you get.

yes, exactly. so grab if there is a job. irregardless of the nature or where. after that then go on with your life.. to be true even as a PR a hospital in the remote area is willing to hire people. like me. good thing is everything is almost free... bad thing. far from civilization.

perth was actually my 1st choice because i heard a lot of good things about the place... i was planning to be on the [color=#333333]04-june-2012 perth bp course of ihna... but while i was searching for jobs, especially for or nurses, there are a lot more opportunities in nsw. that's why i opted to go to con in july...
