New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

APHRA offices are busy with the current national renewal of nurses and midwives so they are the priority of course.Try calling them but don't expect them to give you an update via email from time to time . Best thing to do is wait and pray. BTW,I called APHRA NT office today to confirm if they forwarded my application to NSW and they did send it a month ago . Called NSW office also and I was informed that my application is with them and my application is being assessed as of the moment, they will just inform if I need to provide any further documents.

I've been waiting for more than 5 months now but is okay as long as I receive a positive assessment from them. :):):)

Good luck to all of us.

TO vanessa & ladydee & others who are all waiting for their LOEs...

This was dated March 30, 2011... Almost one year ago... Same situation as us... After a few months, I have friends who applied and they receive their LOEs a month after... Maybe this is what's keeping them... Besides from the fact that there are LOTS of applicants... There may also be a lot of renewals... We are just unlucky folks who ended up sending our applications on their peaked season...We'll just have to wait....

if no news in the next month i would think of transferring it. but if people like the october applicant receive their LOE in the next month i wont transfer it anymore.. ill give them time. coz when may comes in. renewal of licenses for local nurses would definitely affect our timeline greatly. Im calling them like every week. i hope thats enough for them to see my papers already. if i had known that they will put me on queue i would applied to another state. like SA or tasmania.

you applied in SA right? when was this?

ill try to give SA a ring now. and see what they say..

oopppsss.. they are closed now... ill do it tomorrow and ill ask how many days do they usually take. because SA also took 4 months to some.

ychelle anne

you applied in SA right? when was this?

yes in SA.. October when my documents were received and November 25 when I got my LOE.. :D it was funny though that i didn't know it was approved already! it was late November when I sent them a mail for follow up that they said my LOE was already sent, so the ahpra attached it again.. i never got a hard copy of that from them.. :lol2:

really? maybe it differs with each applicant..
