New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

SThat's what I have in mind.. I only have tetorifice and hepa as adult shots, the rest are way back infancy! Lol! Yes Im enrolled now in unisa but they are not very particular as to which shots I should take.. It is just indicated that I need to bring proofs of my immunizations since it will be needed for the clinical placement.. I'm quite tensed and anxious now.. I still don't have my visa... Waaaaah!

Hey ychelle! They usually require Hep B titer, DPT, MMR and PPD shots. For the DPt, might as well get the Dtap as this is good for adults and will be beneficial to us. The PPD is deemed by other BP facilities important so better have this one as well. Meanwhile, for the MMR, you can just perhaps ask if the infancy shots will suffice.

How did you go about your visa, btw? Please pm me if you have time =) thank you very much =)

Is DPT serology really needed? Why not get a an Adult DPT vaccine? I think it costs P1200 to P1400...
I will not have serology for dpt. just a booster shot. So expensive for a serology. What intake will you be in guys?

Have you guys heard from pinkmarj?

as far as i can remember, she lodged her application at APHRA WA around august or september...not so sure though, last post i read from her was February, I wonder if she got her LOE already.....when i sent my docs to ahpra-wa i could remember reading her post about waiting for her approval letter...so that was really a long time ago...already sent her a pm, hope she could reply.

@VANESSA

I just browsed her posts. . She submitted September 16 in AHPRA-WA . . . .Let's wait for her reply . .I have a friend who submitted a week earlier than her, but no LOE yet . .. :crying2: I am really frustrated about this long waiting time. I feel so unlucky :no:Some of my friends got their LOE in a month and others who have posted here were lucky to have it in the same time frame too. I am disappointed :sniff:. . .

Thank you rhose_30 for the reply. I also saw this one in their site. Have tried to contact them?

hi all! is there anyone here with a confirmed slot in the April 2012 intake of CON Burwood? I'm trying to search for flatmates. I do have some other accommodation options since I've lived in Sydney for almost 2 years (I'm currently back home in the Philippines and will be flying back on April 18) but I think it would be better for me if I live with people doing the same program.

Hello there, I am also for April intake.

Hello Sir Joiemike!

I would just like to know if you applied to ETEA by yourself. Do they help in finding employers after the bridging course? I'm about to apply there but I'm still preparing the requirements. Thank you.

This is a machine generated response. Once they received your application documents and receipt, they will send you this email. I also receive the same message from them.

You will have to wait for your papers to be assessed and be approved.

Just keep the faith! God bless

@baesa

meaning? they havent started my papers yet? but this guy from ahpra said that it was just being assessed.. i was wondering what this means? i received the receipt of document on the day i applied to their perth office. in a nutshell this is the 4th email i received from them.

I'm planning to join the july intake in CON, if LOE will arrive by May... Still waiting...:zzzzz

It's been 4 looonng months now!:madface:

i think its going to be longer. coz it was 6 months with the others. i was thinking of going to perth office and request my papers to be transferred to adelaide. do you people think its a good idea? coz SA timeline is a lot shorter as i read here.. just under a month?

or to continue bugging them until they give me that piece of paper.
