New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

@RHOSE_30 The main office of PHILMAN is in Manila and they have agents in provinces. You need to have IELTS when you apply in AHPRA (IELTS band score of at least 7 in all areas).

thank you ^_^

@ladydee-rn thanks..

hmmmm.... I still think the reason that your letter was different from ours was probably because you passed your application directly to their office and not from the Philippines..Just a speculation... i don't know...

And I have just realized we did received this kind of letter...Maybe you just haven't received the final approval letter yet... Don't worry, I was also in your shoes... My application was received Nov 2011, yet I received the final approval letter Feb 28 2012, while some of the forumers here had their applications received Dec 2011, and yet they received the final approval letter earlier than I did (Feb. 15, i think)... I don't know why, but I can't really do anything about it but wait....

@g3stalt

this is the one that confuses me and i did call them as to why. i just said that a friend of mine got an email for final approval last feb 20+ im referriing to @aila. she did lodge appplication dec 20 im a week ahead and yet im almost a month behind her. the person from ahpra said that different case officers were in different dates. and they are assessing dates then by surname.. as to how it goes i really dont understand. they just said that some Co is still in the november while other was in january. when I called earlier this guy said that my application was just being assessed on that day. this guys said that wait for 2-5 days. but i was surprised when a email came in few minutes after my call maybe it her response to my email last thursday..btw. this guy asked my case officer about my application when he puts me on hold.

@G3STALT ADDYHOTTIE originally submitted her documents in AHPRA-VIC (JULY 2011). She transferred it to AHPRA-WA (November 2011). She got her LOE Feb 15, 2012 after 6 weeks of waiting from the time she was emailed that it's for final approval.

@Mr E-NIGMA :crying2: Oh no, I am really hoping that we will get our LOE asap. Are you planning to visit AHPRA? It's advantageous in your side since you are residing in Western Australia.

So maybe I was right to say that her application was already assessed in VIC and it only took a few skimming to be approved in WA... Because if her application was reassessed (from the start) in WA, then I would have had my LOE now, since I was received also Nov. 2011 and you (ladydee) also since you were received sometime in Oct. right?

Hmmmm.... So let's see...addyhottie's application started July 2011 (from vic) and s/he received her LOE Feb 2012... that's 7 months... let's minus the holidays and the transfer time to 1 month... So it will probably take 6 months (from the receipt of your application) to have the LOE, right?

WOw...that's long... which means I have to wait till May to get my LOE? That's harsh...=(

is it possible to apply to APHRA if you dont have IELTS? ^_^

and if you were denied by APHRA can u still apply after how many months??

i really dont to take IELTS :cry:

no! its a must now..imagine im here in their country and they made me do it..

I also e-mailed them regarding not being consistent with the applications... still no reply... and just like I said... It seems we have no choice but to wait and keep being persistent in e-mailing and calling them for updates...

@GESTALT :sniff: It's almost 6 months of waiting, but no LOE yet. I'm really hoping to get it soon. Let's pray that they will release it as early as possible. I should have submitted my documents in other states. There are several applicants in AHPRA-WA.

@g3stalt

yeah, they rarely reply. i think my case officer wont reply to me if i didnt make that call earlier. i will tell you guys if you see the WA office. it filled with papers. its was madness. i wont be surprised if papers got lost in the process..

@rhose_30

i'm not from philman. and yes, it's a consultancy agency. :)

I know... That's why as to not be disappointed too much, I'm setting my mind that LOE will be in 6 months (May 2012 for me) and I have a month to comply the visa requirements. Hopefully I can finally be in Australia by July for the CON intake...fingers crossed...

Although, July is FOUR looooonnnggg months from now!

And it's tiring to think about it...so I'll just stop thinking and start praying....(sigh)

Gosh! Now, my papers are in my prayers! I need to pray harder!
