New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

yeah you are right

in my case . .i had it translated . .but my friend submitted her TOR and Course Description to AHPRA-WA without translating the Filipino subjects and it was approved by AHPRA . . She's done with her bridging program and she had no problems about TOR and course description when applying to schools. . and I think the most important are the Nursing related subjects. . . I hope this will enlighten you . .;)

Thank you for the enlightenment.

hi stemcell did you apply at the college of nursing? thanks

hi,

sent my application to ahpra wa too, they told me to wait, and i'll receive a notification when assessment of my application begins, they received it last nov 1 2011, but until now still no case officer. just wanna ask if you got an email notifying that your papers are being assessed by the case officer already?

hi!

ahpra received my application exactly on the same date as yours, i just emailed them 2 days ago and was asking for any update. this was her reply.

[color=#454545]thank you for your email.your application has been received and once an assessment is complete, you will be notified. a time frame cannot be guaranteed. each application is assessed on a case by case basis.

hi vanessa . .i think you have a case officer already . .what was your email from AHPRA?. .

Hi Ladydee-rn,

i got 2 emails initially, both generic emails, the second one stated they got my application last Nov. 1, 2011. Last Jan 17, 2012 i sent a follow up email:

Here's the reply:

"We can confirm that your application was received on 1/11/11.

A time frame cannot be guaranteed, but you will be contacted if additional informations is required WHEN THE ASSESSMENT OF YOUR APPLICATION COMMENCES.

Your patience is appreciated."

the term "commences" to me means, it has not even started yet. :c

hi irin,

so does that mean, they have started assessing our documents? because i emailed them last jan 17, the reply i got was, "once assessment of your application commences." for me that means, they have not begun to assess it yet. i emailed ms. g.n. by the way. ps: were your docs sent by a consultancy agency too?

hi vanessa . .we have the same case officer. . . . .i have received that kind of email too ..i submitted mine last september 30 . . .

Thanks! :) Keep your hopes up, I'm sure your LOE will come anytime soon. In my case, I kept on sending emails to AHPRA regarding my application. Haha. Now I have to face another challenge--finding a school. It gets so tiring as to I don't know what facilities have vacant slots for this year's intake.

Does anyone here know any BP schools who are still accepting applicants for this year?

Hi Noelle, i sent you a private message hope you could reply. thanks in advance and God bless :)

Hi,

Yes you will be notified. in my case they got hold of my application August 26 & immediately requested for add'l doc w/c is the course outline but specifying not the course syllabus w/c is very clear to me & i complied. I only got my case officer last week of November that's when my dilemma begun in the sense that it will take another time effort & money to request, courier etc.. maybe your situation differs from mine. below is the email from my case officer.

Course Syllabus - We need breakdown of subjects for theory as well as clinical in clock hours. Also be advised that core subjects should be covered in transcripts examples Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, microbiology, Paediatrics and aged care etc. In this regard make arrangements with school of nursing to send that information directly to us or you can submit us certified copies of them. (Even though we have received course outline however we still need this course syllabus - displaying breakdown of subjects in theory and clinical in clock hours)

Hope this helps.:D
