New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

hi guys, just wanted to ask if anyone here submitted their papers last September 2011 to AHPRA WA? Did you guys recieve your eligibility letter already? I called AHPRA last week and they said they are already processing september applicants. It's taking too looooooong :(
Can i ask what was the last email they sent you. I received an email that my papers are for final approval, do you know what this means?

Yay! I still will try to book my IELTS for March 31 as well. I'm from Jeddah. I'm glad to know that we are in the same situation. Ours is more challenging considering the fact that most of our documents are written in Arabic and it is not easy to roam around. I'm trying to find accredited Arabic Translator in Jeddah. I might visit the Australian consulate in the coming days.

hi everyone! this waiting game is too painful to dwell upon but it needs to be addressed. i passed my ahpra application through their sydney office around the last week of march 2011 and i received an email confirmation that "[color=#454545]the application is currently being assessed and you will be notified if any further information is required. [color=#454545]once your application has been assessed and processed you will be advised of the outcome." i received that confirmation around the last week of april 2011. i tried to follow up twice and they just said that my application is still on queue. so its been 9-10 months and still i haven't received any news about it, not even an assigned registration officer. anyone who has an idea what submission date they are processing right now? thanks!

Wow...I think you've been waiting for far too long...Maybe you'll want to try to request from the Sydney office to transfer your papers to another AHPRA office that will be able to process your papers faster...

i submitted mine september 12. to be honest i only received one email from them stating that they have received my papers..thats it! i dont even know who my registration officer is! im getting anxious already..i really wanted to enroll in a BP that would start this february or march :(

they only sent one e-mail saying that they got my papers and will notify me if i still lack some documents. thats good kringkring...your eligibility letter means its on its final stages, just wait for a few more days i guess :) may i ask when did you submit your papers?

Hello. To everyone who are already enrolled in bp, did you email ahpra that you are already enrolled? Tia!

Yup. You are supposed to inform the registration officer handling your case. In my case, we informed AHPRA during the 1st week of our BP.

Thanks for the quick response. But if we opt to inform them earlier, can we do that now?

hi, i initially submitted my ahpra application at the nsw office mid april 2011. i waited for 4 months for the receipt of application. but they never sent me any e-mail or updates. so i decided to call them and requested to have my application transferred to the victoria office instead. after about a month of waiting, i finally got my eligibility letter. i'm so glad i made that decision to have my application assessed in a different state because if i didn't, i would have experienced what you are experiencing now. although i'm not sure if i should advise you to do what i did because i'm not sure if victoria office still follows the 1-2 months processing time. i've been told that they are experiencing an increase in foreign nurses' applications as well. hence, the slow processing. anyway, i wish you luck.
