Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hello! I had previous IELTS all 7 score and is about to expire on February. I will be taking the March 2012 schedule in KSA. One thing that bothers me is the police clearance which if I am not mistaken should be taken in the country you recently worked for or lived in. I am most likely sure that it will be written in Arabic. Do I need official translation? Do I also need to notarize all my documents, (i.e. certificate of employment) in KSA?
I will hopefully submit all my documents in April-May during my 45days vacation in the Philippines. I was supposed to go through the Australian route 2 years ago but since it is financially draining, I decided to work and save in the Middle East first.
In addition, I also hold a current license in Saudi Arabia (Saudi Council). What documents should I obtain from the Saudi Council? I am a CGFNS passer as well, do I need to forward a copy of the certificate too?
I am glad you are now working towards going to Australia. Your questions are very basic. They can easily be answered by reading the instructions in the AHPRA registration form for overseas trained nurses. Please check the AHPRA website. After thoroughly reading the step by step instructions, you can back read this forum starting from page 1. You might find it tedious and cumbersome to read so much info but it's what we all have done here. It's either this, or hire an agent/consultant to facilitate your application. The 2nd option will entail additional cost of course. But then again, the responsibility will still entirely be yours when it comes to complying with all the requirements. So it's better to take the bull by the horns so to speak to make sure that you get registered in Australia.
And yes, you need to declare your current RN licenses in all the countries you have worked in. And you need an English translation of all documents for AHPRA to read them.
By the way, you will easily be hired in Australia with the years of experience you have under your belt. If you have survived in KSA so far, you will really flourish in Australia. God Speed.
Thanks joiemike! Yay! I was actually planning to read all 650+ pages and have read quite a few but at some point I have realized my situation is different. I have many concerns including what courier to use. I have decided to just let all my Australian documents be sent in my home country first and my family will just send it here in KSA (I might use LBC). I am worried that my documents will be lost in transit as people in KSA don't observe privacy stuff.
I am working in ER (with ICU) in a Level 1 Trauma Care Hospital, 1000+ bed capacity. You're right, I have survived KSA and there's no reason for me to give up my Australian dream! Thanks for being a supportive member and for always helping your colleagues.
That's what I did, I presented my baby book to the GP and all the test results, such as HepB titers, etc...plus I made her do the mantoux test and other boosters that I needed to have. :)
I think I read this answer somewhere here but I wasn't paying attention back then because I haven't reached that step. haha! Thank you so much!!! :)
