New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hi guys. it's been a while since i posted. i just got a letter of offer from AAON for their feb intake. just wondering if what visa is required since the letter doesnt specify it... is it a 456 or a 575? thnx... To Jesus be All the Glory!

Hi markgian! I'm doing the IRON Program in AAON right now and I am on a 456 visa. That's what they told me to get. :)

There are two options. You can retake the exam this month, Dec, or even Jan before the start of the intake. Or, you can submit your reason for not having one. :)

Joiemike, you mentioned about house sharing in heidelberg, can you message me with the details? thank you :)

anyone taking the IHNA January intake in melbourne campus?

you will request this personally in PRC or if you can't just write a letter authorizing someone to request it, then there's a DHL there, it should be sent by prc to aphra directly, you just have to pay like 1200 or 1400 i think.:)

Hi Everyone. I sent my application to AHPRA on Sept 23 2011 and heard nothing from them until yesterday when they sent back all my documents with a new application form. This form is very much the same as the old one except for the last page that discusses new standards for IELTS and which do not apply to Filipino nurses. I wonder why they have to return all my documents. Does it mean my application will have to be put on queue again after I mail it back to them? Is anyone here on the same experience? Thank you in advance for your replies.

Ielts 7 academic all round does apply to nurses from the Phillipines as from September 16 , this was the requirement along with the new form to address this requirement.

Hello! how is everyone in here? its been a long time since my last log in and lurk... hope everyone is doing well and keepng their hopes high to our application.. I recently have someone to assess my papers... and I think the lady is good. to add things up she ask for my course outline as a missing document. and i tried to request from my school and they are giving me a hard time to get it. they wont be able to give it to me and their reason is course outline is a confidential doc. and that is my problem... is course outline and course syllabus the same thing?

is someone here from school in davao ask by the aphra to provide a course outline?

hi! just wanted to ask regarding where i'll addressing the ones to be sent by the prc. the form says to send it to nmba but its only ahpra that has mailing address on the site.should i be sending it to ahpra whichever state i'm planning to pass my application for reg? thank you!!!

Here's my piece of good new to you... =) I am currently doing my clinicals here in Nhill, Victoria. It's a really small town 6 hours away from the city. I just wanted you to know that they accept nurses here without any form of experience. So if you do get pass AHPRA, and get into one of the BP schools (you probably will have better chances if you are in AU and you give your application personally), and you are willing to work in the rural areas, then you have a good chance of getting employed. A lot of hospitals in smaller towns accept nurses without experience because they don't have a lot of applicants and they do need nurses to work for them... =)

God bless!!!

Hi Mhai! Thank you for this good good news! Made me smile :) Keeps me positive. I will be staying in Perth. That's a diiferent city from Victoria, right? But I love love this info.

you probably will have better chances if you are in AU and you give your application personally - Are you referring to BP or AHPRA or both? :)

Thank you for being generous with what you know, Mhai!

God bless you!

Its good to be back again!

Hi ishtin!

The ARNTP is a sort of a bridging program. Its actually different from mine at LTU or to others.

It's about 5 months of classes and duties in Adelaide, South Au.

There will be a 'Study in Australia Exhibition' happening on Nov.17 here in Cebu, or on the 18 in Manila.

Most of the time, university representatives join the exhibit and its the best time to ask them.

I think they only run it once a year, that is on every October.

Hi Invanz! I checked their link http://www.studyinaustralia.org/philippines/about-study-in-australia-education-fair/ and the date was June 28, 2011 for Cebu. Where did you get the info that they're conducting a fair here this Nov 17? Im interested. Does this have a registration fee? I hope it's free.

Send it to AHPRA (whichever state you passed your application to). Good luck to you!:)
