Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

guys!!! help.. i just got a message from AHPRA they're asking me to verify my card because there was a problem in the expiry date.. i am using a debit card.. what will i do??huhuhu
If your debit card is really expired then I think you need to give details of another card that has no issue with expiry dates. If you're sure that there's no problem with your card, then call them and explain yourself. And that's one way of helping yourself :)
Hello!
It's my first time in this blog, and read GREAT information about the bridging program!
but I still don't know what requirements to send to AHPRA, and how to send it to AHPRA? pls help me :)
Welcome Me_gusta!
All you need to attach are mentioned in this form. Just follow the instructions. And if you have questions, make an enquiry here:

Good Luck!

hi kit. what debit card did you use if I may ask. I tried using psbank card but they declined my payment. I applied for BDO debit card but they said they only accept mastercard or visa and my BDO card doesn't have a mastercard or visa card logo. I am also having a problem with the payment. I still plan to apply for unionbank's EON card.
I think I must have read the thread from the first to last. Haha. But i'm human so i might have missed some details so i hope you will be kind enough to answer a clueless creature's (not really that clueless anymore) query.
Good day!
I am a newly registered nurse in the Philippines with zero hospital experience. Here are some of my queries. Thank you.
1. Criminal history
*Will an NBI Clearance issued by the National Bureau of Investigation of the Republic of the Philippines be honored to certify that the applicant has no criminal records on file? I also have a Police Clearance issued by the National Police Commission which shows no criminal records on file too.
2. Professional indemnity insurance arrangements
*What does this mean? What document should I submit? I am an unemployed registered nurse in the Philippines. Will this apply?
3. Continuing professional development
I am neither enrolled in a masteral course in the Philippines nor participating in a training. Moreover, my license CARD as a nurse is yet to claimed 3 more months from now.
4. Recency of practice
Presently, i am an unemployed registered nurse.
Hi everyone,
I am planning to lodge my application to AHPRA by next week.
The thing is, my license is due to expire on Jan 5 2012, about two months from now.
Upon renewal, should I inform AHPRA about my renewed license? If so, how should I inform them? Is there a specific format/form to use? I could not find anything in the site.
Thanks in advance!

1. You will need the NBI clearance
2. Professional Indemnity insurance - usually covers legal costs in case of damage/suit. Free if you are working in a hospital here in Australia. Not sure about Philippines
3. Continuing Professional development - learning activities related to your nursing career. Can be as easy as reading a nursing article and reflecting on it and documenting how it can affect on your practice. Taking a Master's degree in the Philippines while unemployed is a complete waste of time and money. In Australia, UK and the US the Master's degree is usually taken by experienced nurses in their field to improve their portfolio and other responsibilities and benefits that go with doing the course.
4. Recency of practice - unemployed
The issue I think for you is this. You don't have any experience and you want to work abroad. You will be competing with experienced nurses who want the same job you are after or new graduates who speak their language and do not need to be applied for sponsorship. Good luck
