New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hi ishtin, I am fond of browsing through available nursing jobs in Australia. It just so happened one day that I chanced upon this company who clearly states in ther job posting that they are willing to sponsor for a 457 visa. Their application has ended last July 31. Just be patient in looking for willing employers online and you'll never know what you might stumble upon.

regarding aaon and wli. i emailed university of ballarat about their bp and here's their reply :

"dear xxxx,

thank you for your email and the attached documents.

the iron program isn't currently being ran in ballarat itself, but our partner providers in dandenong and adelaide are offering the program.

please contact the partner providers directly regarding intakes and application processes. "

at the end of the e-mail they have provided me with the contact information of aaon and william light institute.

i also asked my case manager in wa about this issue and here's her reply.

"dear xxxx,

thank you for your email.

yes, the iron program is an accredited program conducted through the australian academy of nursing.

i hope this is of assistance to you."

i was interviewed today by a personnel from aaon. to those who have offer letters from aaon, how long did it take you to receive the offer letter from the time you were interviewed. thanks :)

hi, i'm a student of aaon too!!!! :nurse: but im doing the bnp course coz i didnt get a 7 :crying2: for writing. *sniff

anyways, i saw a few posts here saying uni of ballarat is not accredited or aaon. i dont know where they get their information from. but i get mine from ahpra and ub myself. ub is accredited by ahpra. and aaon is an accredited provider of ub. how hard is that to get???

btw, i'm doing the 1 year program, and done with the 1st semester. wheeew!!!! :yeah:

"THEY". got this information from some of the officers at AHPRA. and you will still need 7 in your writing IELTS.

And the University of Ballarat is not accredited by AHPRA their nursing programs are.

I already have a slot for the May 2012 intake of La Trobe:)

Tsk. I wish application is free in La Trobe, just like in IHNA, WLI or AAoN, only submit scanned documents through email.

Aren't you worried that if you start in May 2012 and complete the IRON program in July or August and start looking for employment in September, there won't be many job vacancies anymore?

guys!!! help.. i just got a message from AHPRA they're asking me to verify my card because there was a problem in the expiry date.. i am using a debit card.. what will i do??huhuhu

Hello!

:yeah:

It's my first time in this blog, and read GREAT information about the bridging program!

but I still don't know what requirements to send to AHPRA, and how to send it to AHPRA? pls help me :)

It's not like I didn't apply to other schools. In fact I applied to 7 of them. But La Trobe was the first to give an offer. I applied for their January intake, but the slots got filled up fast. When they offered me the May intake, I accepted it right away. I was afraid that no other school would offer me a slot in their program, plus a lot of schools that were listed in the AHPRA website were not offering the program for 2012. The most difficult part I think during the whole process I've gone through so far is waiting for the offer letter from the schools. I was worried about my eligibility letter which is valid only until August 29, 2012. Regarding the job vacancies by the time I finish the bridging program, all I can say is I will just need to have faith. If God allowed me to pass the RN board exam, the IELTS, be approved by AHPRA, and be accepted by a BP school, then surely He will not allow me to go to Australia and just be jobless. And I will definitely not allow that to happen.
