New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Congratulations Stereo!:yeah:

I also applied in AHPRA VIC. I'm just wondering, did they grant you the eligibility letter on the same day that they asked for lacking documents? Did you call or email them? TIA:)

Yes. The officer assigned in my case asked for the "lacking" doc the same day she gave me the eligibility letter after I told her that I already called AHPRA 2months ago and made sure they receive all the documents. I did that through email because when I tried to call her, it was the answering machine so I just emailed her and luckily she responded.

Hi, to NurseNathalie and Stereo, I am sorry for the confusion I caused with regards to AHPRA accreditation of University of Ballarat. I have clarified this with AHPRA. University of Ballarat IS an accredited BP provider. However, William Light Institute (which is under the University of Ballarat) IS NOT. That was what I meant with my previous posts.

Of course, William Light Institute is under the University of Ballarat so you would not see WLI in AHPRA's list of BP Providers. But to make a conclusion, I think WLI is also an accredited BP Provider because as I confirmed through UB, it's in their website and WLI is still their official "partner" in Adelaide SA.

Hi everyone,

I just want to ask if Australian embassy do require a flat 7 IELTS test result in all category? This is one of the things I dread since I don't have an IELTS with flat & score and I already have my offer letter for BP which will be on January 30th. Oh God, Im panicking now.. help me!..

Hi joiemike thank you for the reply, I am indeed blessed to be able to find an employer even before I am registered with AHPRA. By the way do you have a no further stay on your visa? That is part of my dilemma because they might issue me a visa with a no further stay clause and I'm hoping that they won't since I already have a sponsor.

I got a letter of offer from AAON today. Just want to ask if AAON is an accredited BP provider? I already looked at the AHPRA website to check on this, but only the Uni of Ballarat was listed there. Perhaps, they are also accredited because they are associated with Ballarat. Your thoughts, anyone?

Hi mookie,

Yes I think so too. It's the same case with William Light Institute.

How long does it take for you to get the Letter of offer from AAON? Do they have requirements on the length of working experience?

They didn't mention that they are requiring work experience but as for my case I have two years of work experience. My only concerns are if they are actually accredited and on what type of VISA they require because their intake is i think 12 weeks.
