Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I suggest you wait first for your eligibility letter from AHPRA before applying to schools since number 1 requirement of BP schools is the letter from AHPRA. They wont start your application unless you have the go signal already to do the bridging program. But I read from this forum that some were given pre-approved slots while waiting. :)

Why is this so? Do you know what are their reasons for not offering any Bp next year? Im starting to get worried that i might not get any slots for next year. I hope it wont be the case.
They don't really state their reasons for not offering the bridging program. I'm getting worried too

I have received my letter of offer from La trobe and was wondering what bank should I go to since I would like to pay them through TT. To Ivanz, may I ask how much should I prepare for the proof of funds for the student visa to be approved? Thank you so much in advance.
Hello! I applied for LTU as well and paid them thru BPI telegraphic transfer. I filled out a form on an afternoon and the lady there said that they would be able to process it on the following day since they only do it (TT) during mornings. The university's financial department was able to receive it 3days after but I still sent a scanned copy of the receipt to the admission officer as soon as I got it just in case.
As for the student visa, all I was asked for was a declaration that I would be able to support my stay in Oz during the entire length of my visa/course. I applied online and got approved after a week. Are you planning on joining the January intake?

In fact, I have treated all your inputs here as my reference section during my entire application process especially since the AHPRA website (and their helpline) couldn't really specifically answer my questions unlike most people here who actually underwent the whole thing from scratch like I did. Thus, I would like to give a BIG THANKS to every contributor on this thread for helping me, even though you weren't aware of it.
P.S. JUST GOT MY 575 VISA APPROVED A WHILE AGO!!! (pardon the all-caps as I am super excited which also explains my dramatic post lol!)

I had Jetstar last summer and it was really affordable as compared as to other airline (From manila-Darwin-Melbourne).. You better check their website because sometimes they give promos same as with our local airlines here in the Philippines.

Congrats! I'm going for La Trobe as well but have not started with the visa yet. Looking forward to see everyone in La Trobe coming from this thread in Oz!
