New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Thats because you must apply as an international student through the international section, not online at Deakin.

If you go to faculties and courses there is a link to this program here it is, tells you how to apply.

for this whole week, ive been thinking about that. some of my friends who were already in OZ took that e-learning course before going but free of charge. may be it was charged in the tuition fee. and also, they already have the offer letter while their online study is on-going. its ok to take that course as long as im secured with a slot for BP in their institution.

do you wish to continue your application in IHNA markgian?

Good evening nurses :nurse::nurse::nurse:

Could anyone help me with my query please :heartbeat

Its more than a month now that i am waitng for my letter from AHPRA, and i am expecting it (optimistic) that i will receive my eligibility letter either october or november. So while waiting for it, Can i send my application to schools for BP?? Is their schools anywhere in OZ that would still check and assess and fortunately will give a slot for next year? I badly need to take the earliest intake for 2012..

And another thing, Do you know any school that has BP on Feb,March or Apri;l 2012? If i cannot get a slot on Jan next year at least i could apply for the following months..

Hope anyone here could enlighten me :redpinkhe

Thank you so much and God bless you

Hi!

I suggest you wait first for your eligibility letter from AHPRA before applying to schools since number 1 requirement of BP schools is the letter from AHPRA. They wont start your application unless you have the go signal already to do the bridging program. But I read from this forum that some were given pre-approved slots while waiting. :)

The following schools no longer offer the bridging program. I got the info from their websites and some I received through email. The schools are the following: SOUTH WEST HEALTHCARE, CASTLEMAINE HEALTH, EASTERN HEALTH, ROYAL WOMEN'S HOSPITAL, ST. VINCENT'S & MERCY PRIVATE HOSPITAL, ROYAL PERTH HOSPITAL, and EPWORTH FREEMASONS (Epworth Freemasons is not currently accepting applications, but you can try to contact them early 2012)

:eek:

Why is this so? Do you know what are their reasons for not offering any Bp next year? Im starting to get worried that i might not get any slots for next year. I hope it wont be the case.

Cool Evenings to Everyone!

To my future classmates at La Trobe Next year:

I just want to inform you I have already lodged a Student Visa Subclass 575 last Monday.

Last Friday, I have my medical exam however Nationwide Health in Cebu was unable to find my name in the e-Health.

I went to IDP to ask about this on the same date and was very surprised

when I was told that my 575 Visa had already been approved on Wednesday.

Just 2 days only even without my medicals.

Now, I got this small problem on how to pass my medicals online...

Future classmates, please communicate to me...

Hi Invanz;

after applying online for the visa, did you need to submit your passport to DIAC? how did they give you the visa?

Hello! Has anyone here tried to apply or been interviewed by Alpine Health? Any insights or comments about this institution? Thanks

Thanks for the update.

Hello everyone! I've been reading this thread for some time already. I have received my letter of offer from La trobe and was wondering what bank should I go to since I would like to pay them through TT. To Ivanz, may I ask how much should I prepare for the proof of funds for the student visa to be approved? Thank you so much in advance.

Hello fellow RNs!

I'm not an active poster here but I am an active reader. In fact, I have treated all your inputs here as my reference section during my entire application process especially since the AHPRA website (and their helpline) couldn't really specifically answer my questions unlike most people here who actually underwent the whole thing from scratch like I did. Thus, I would like to give a BIG THANKS to every contributor on this thread for helping me, even though you weren't aware of it.

P.S. JUST GOT MY 575 VISA APPROVED A WHILE AGO!!! (pardon the all-caps as I am super excited which also explains my dramatic post lol!)
