New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

my request for re-direction of application from nsw to perth was granted a week before i received the receipt of application. (i received the receipt:nurse: today)

the one who sent the email was a registration officer, i'm not sure if that is the same as a case manager. :)

thanks zonroxrn,

i received an e-mail notification and it goes like this.

dear xxxxx

i confirm that ahpra has received your application for registration as a nurse / midwife on 08/aug 2011

in order to assist ahpra staff with the assessment process, can you please provide us with the following information:

- if your current australian visa is expiring within the next two months, please provide your visa number, type and expiry date.

- if you have an offer of employment in australia as a nurse / midwife commencing within the next two months, please provide a letter of offer from your employer stating the intended commencement date.

- if neither of the above apply, i would be obliged if you could confirm the state or territory where you intend to be employed once you gain registration.

in order that your application can be assessed further, could you please forward a certified copy of the course outline or student handbook from the university or institution where your qualification was conferred. we do not require the whole course syllabus, simply an outline of the courses conducted, and the theoretical and clinical units (including clinical hours), undertaken within each course.

please be aware that once your application has been assigned to a registration officer and the documentation has been checked in detail, you may be asked to provide further documentation/information.

please ensure that you include your name (as it appears on your passport ) and your date of birth on any documents you supply.

---------------------------------------------------------------

just want to ask if you received the same e-mail notification. on the bottom part which i italized and underlined mentioned that it needs to be assigned to a registration officer and further documents might be asked. do i need to send the documents now or i'll just wait for the registration officer coz he/she might ask for another documents, you know, couries fees are quite expensive. thanks again in advance!

wow that's one complicated e-mail! haha.. the one i received was a lot simpler. it went like this:

dear xxxxxx,

we are in receipt of an application for general registration (graduated or trained overseas) as registered nurse, enrolled nurse or midwife.

please be advised following documents are still outstanding to continue the processing of your application:

- certified copy of transcript of training listing the theoretical hours completed in bachelor of science nursing degree

please provide the required documentation within 30 days from the date of this email to allow the finalisation of the assessment of your application. if you fail to provide such documentation by this date it will be taken that you have withdrawn your application. should you have any further enquiries please do not hesitate to contact us via email.

yours sincerely,

xxxxxxxxxx

registration officer

in my opinion, you should provide the needed documents at once because the registration officer won't start with the assessment of your application if it is still incomplete. good luck to both of us!

Thanks leey86!

I somehow received a receipt of my application as well ,and it was already charged on my dad's credit card even if I did not send the documents that they requested yet. I am almost done with the clinical and theoritical hours but the school was not really familiar on how they transcribed the course outline. Do you have any suggestion or a sample of it so I could show it to them. It's really a huge help.. TIA.

Did you receive the eligibility letter on email as well??? just wondering if it goes the same with me:uhoh3:

I´m still waiting (and praying)for my so dreamed letter:heartbeat

Have u already received yours?:nurse:

well, look at the bright side, that's better than lost documents, ayt?! cheers mate...

definitely, my friend!

thanks for cheering me up:heartbeat

Thanks leey86!

I already passed mine and don't have any copy. I think most schools are already familiar with this because course outline is usually one of the requirements when applying abroad. It's the list of all subjects (theory and clinical) then the # of hours and units as well as the description per subject.

for my 456 visa i had my medicals in high precision (cebu), while for my skilled migration i had it in nationwide (also in cebu). check the list in diac website for list of accredited facilities. they change from time to time.

yes i am very sure mate, it was exactly what i did and some other forumers here did the same as well. all you need to do is to photocopy your medical receipts and include it in your visa application. no, there is no letter of whatsoever required from the embassy to go for medicals. in the medical/health form there is an option which says "have not lodged visa application yet" and another option that asks "where do you plan to lodge your visa application"... fill/tick as appropriate.

if you are still in doubt you can call the customer service of diac the numbers are in the website and ask whether you can have your medicals in advance, they will certainly say you may.

where can i find this medical/health form? is this the one i should take to the embassy registered doctor to be signed?

thank you for your precious help!

I would advise you to send everything that you can send which are listed in the different categories.. This is to avoid delays... if your passport doesn't contain an Australian visa, write them a letter that you can not comply with category A because you have not acquired a visa yet.. explain things to them... like i said send them everything you can from credit card statements to house bills to NBI clearance... Better send more than required rather than delay your process because you lacked documents...

thank you for the advice :)

Nope have not passed any from category D. And it says "if necessary" anyways :D The proof of address can be found in your TOR, so i guess they can verify your address there

thank you for the response :)

hi mhai and everyone,

this is the response i got from etea. i guess i will be applying for 676 after all. i have received my cousin's letter of invitation already. hope this helps others in choosing which visa to apply for. at least we have options of having the possibility of a longer stay of more than 3 months. enough time to wait for our license, apply for jobs, and hopefully get a working visa from our employer. god bless everyone!!:D:yeah:;):lol2:

hello xxxxxxxx,

yes both the sub class 456 visa or the sub class 676 visa are suitable. if you have relatives you are visiting in brisbane during your stay in australia then i would suggest you submit an application for the sub class 676.

it is important that you submit with your application;

1. the letter from ahpra

2. the letter of offer from etea

3. a letter from your relative inviting you to visit them in brisbane after you finish your bridging course.

also it is important that you request for a waiver on condition 8503 "no further stay". as to the purposes of your bridging course is to obtain registration as an australian registered nurse and you would like to apply for an appropriate work visa with an employer once you have finished the course and obtained registration. if you have a condition 8503 stamped on your visa, then you will not be able to apply for another visa whilst on shore and you will need to return to your country of origin.

trust this helps.

regards

so you're planning to go to brisbane after your bp is done? that's what i also plan to do since i have my relatives there... thank you so much for sharing this info. :)
