Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
I just also want to share this; good thing IDP allowed me to change/submit another proof of identification a couple of days before my speaking exam because I informed them that my passport was still with the Embassy at that time. When I lodged my application for my visa it never occurred to me that my application would be delayed for whatever reason and I though I had more than enough time to receive my passport before my IELTS exam.
hi everyone! i need your help. i have just received a receipt of my application and they told me that i still lack the following document:
- certified copy of transcript of training listing the theoretical hours completed in bachelor of science nursing degree
is this different from my official transcript of records? i have submitted a copy of my summary of related learning experience where the subject, descriptive title, no. of weeks, and no. of hours are detailed. is this the document that they want? can somebody show me a sample of this transcript of training that they're asking so that i can show it to my school? please do help me. thanks a lot!
zonroxRN,
I actually have a similar question. I already submitted my application but I haven't received an email from AHPRA. I included my TOR with Summary of RLE - with hours and units and all. So I don't know if this should be enough or are they requesting for a more detailed documents. As of now, since I'm still waiting for a response from AHPRA, I requested a copy of the course description from my school just in case they ask for it.
This maybe a little off, but any FEU grads here? Did you have any problems with the TOR you sent to AHPRA?
Thanks.
I'm guessing that the transcript of training that they're asking for is similar to the Summary of RLE. I'm planning to ask my school to make a certification that my Summary of RLE IS REALLY my transcript of training. Hehe..
Where did you send your application? I sent mine in NSW but asked them to re-direct my application to Perth. After a week, Perth sent me a receipt of my application.

hi, i was also asked of the same thing when i was processing my ahpra application, i submitted a course description of all my nursing subjects indicating the number of theoretical hours per subject.

I sent mine in ACT. Actually, the way my school did the nursing transcripts is they put the Summary of RLE on a paper similar to that of just the regular TOR and attached it to the regular TOR. So in a sense, it's actually part of the TOR, with all the signature, certifications, stamp, seal, special order number, etc.
HI ZonroxRN,When did you received the receipt of your application? did they already informed you that your documents has been assigned to a case manager?
My request for re-direction of application from NSW to Perth was granted a week before I received the receipt of application. (I received the receipt:nurse: today)
The one who sent the email was a registration officer, I'm not sure if that is the same as a case manager. :)
Hi, I was also asked of the same thing when I was processing my AHPRA application, I submitted a course description of all my nursing subjects indicating the number of theoretical hours per subject.
So maybe I should ask my school to submit the following:
>TOR
>RLE summary
>Course Description
Do you think it would be okay for me to ask my school to make a certification which states that my RLE summary contains the info they need regarding theoretical hours, etc?

My school did the same. They sent it in one package...my TOR and RLE. But my RLE summary was printed in cheap bond paper while my TOR was printed in a really nice glossy paper. Haha!
July 27 - Lodged our application and submitted all docs to VIA center. Person from VIA center asked me if I had undergone Medical exam yet. I said no and asked her if I need to do it. She said nah, just wait for the Embassy's advice.
August 9 - Received a call from the Embassy (take note not from VIA center, as in really from the Embassy) advising me to re-submit a new application form for a 456, another manager's cheque for additional 400 pesos and that I need to undergo medicals.
All nurses wanting to do BP must have medicals. Not just the regular blood tests and chest Xrays but the whole lot - HbsAg and HIV included as you will be entering a hospital during clinical placements.
What an experience that must have been for you. I hope you will get your visa soon. Cheers!

I have shared my experience a week ago I think. Anyway, I'll share it again. Yes, embassy advised me to change my application to a 456. Here's what happened:
July 22 - I personally rang the CON's coordinator and asked what visa to apply for. Here are her words (more or less): "I have seen students on a 456 visa, others on a 676 visa. But definitely not a student visa as we do not have a CRICOS number". I decided to apply for a 676 for me and my hubby and son.
July 27 - Lodged our application and submitted all docs to VIA center. Person from VIA center asked me if I had undergone Medical exam yet. I said no and asked her if I need to do it. She said nah, just wait for the Embassy's advice.
July 28 - Received email from Embassy stating that our docs were received by them and that normal processing time as of that day for a 676 is 5-7 working days.Nothing was mentioned regarding my application. I think it was a system generated email anyway.
August 8 - I called up the 1-900 (?) number for Globe subscribers and inquired about the status of my application because I told them I needed my passport for my IELTS on the 11th. Lady who answered checked her computer and said that our applications are still being processed.
August 9 - Received a call from the Embassy (take note not from VIA center, as in really from the Embassy) advising me to re-submit a new application form for a 456, another manager's cheque for additional 400 pesos and that I need to undergo medicals. I was like, WHAT?! How come I was advised only now?! Lady actually apologized and said it was only yesterday (August 8) that an officer got a hold of our application. I again asked why. She said they've been receiving a lot of applications recently. Guys imagine I almost had a heart attack, to think my Speaking part for the IELTS was scheduled on August 11. And the lady from CON gave me a deadline for my visa, September 9!
August 11 - Of course I had no choice but to comply. Had my medicals in the morning, submitted my application form and receipt of my medical exam and additional 400 peso manager's cheque at VIA center at around 1:30 pm and went straight to Salustiana for my Speaking exam.
Thankfully, right after my Speaking exam I received a text message from VIA telling me that my hubby and son's passport are ready to be picked up.
To date - Still waiting for my 456.
That is why as I've posted earlier it is better to really call the embassy to inquire which visa to apply for. When Embassy called me, I also asked how come the school advised me that I could also use a 676 visa? She said that they are being more strict nowadays and that the Embassy is well aware that nurses look for work after the BP and that is fine with them. But that activity does not fall under "tourist or leisure purposes" as what the 676 is for. I then told her that I wanted to have enough time to look for an employer hence my 676 application because I was hoping for a stay of more than 3 months. She said that for nurses undergoing BP, 456 is the right visa to apply for as they will grant 456 multiple entry for nurses.
