World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hello Guys,

As I live in Australia, I have been calling each BP course to check slots for this year.

Mercy is opening a program in November, 7 but there are only 5 places to fill in. Besides, the coordinator told me they will choose only 12 applications for conduct an interview.

ETEA has received already over 87 application forms for the October intake, However they are still accepting applications for their review and consideration...so we never know.

CON is planning an extra class in September. The course coordinator asked me to give her a call today to check if it will be really possible or not. I've called her office but she is at lunch break. So, I guess by the end of the day I will have an answer regarding the extra class.

I'll let you updated... fingers crossed for the extra class at CON in September!!

Hi Milabuca!:D How was you BP provider hunting so far? I called CON a week ago and they said that there were no slots available for this year. I've sent my application @Mercy through e-mail but up to now I haven't received any reply from them. :uhoh3: INHA e-mailed me yesterday confirming the receipt of my application but I'm still awaiting for my interview schedule. :smokin:

For those who have their eligibility from AHPRA and is planning to take their BP this year-- any updates about BP providers/schools?

try alpine health and castlemaine too guys :)

Has anyone here already contacted alpine? I emailed them the other day enquiring about dates for bp in 2012 and no reply....

Another question: where´s castlemaine? I googled it but all I found was a neighborhood and not a school:uhoh3:

Hi NurseNathalie! I also e-mailed Alpine but just like you I haven't received any reply. Re Castlemaine you may want to try this link http://www.castlemainehealth.org.au/ :D

I now have the money and experience .... but the problem is... I got 6.0 in writing... I do not know what to do now... I feel like giving up my dream.... Help!

No, Darling, dont give up!

I´ve already been in your shoes 2 times and I was really disheartened....IELTS is awful, we all know it but put yourself to it and study everyday. Practice the writing part as much as you can and I´m sure that you´ll suceed!:yeah:

However, if you believe that u deserved 7 in your previous writing, ask for a enquiry on tests results. I did the second time I took my IELTS ´cos I truly believed that I deserved 7, so I enquired my results and they were sent to Cambridge, after 2 months my writing band increased 1.5 points!:)

hi nursenathalie! i also e-mailed alpine but just like you i haven't received any reply. re castlemaine you may want to try this link http://www.castlemainehealth.org.au/ :D

thanks for replying!!!:lol2:

i am doing this because it is not that easy to ask for the statement of service from the hospital that im working in right now and also they might not renew my contract once they find out that im planning to go to aus since there are a lot of applicants who can replace me. :D

i totally agree with you. so i what i did ( since i believe that once they find out we want to be rn in au we´ll be fired) was to tell my boss a white lie:lol2:

i told her that during my one-month vacation i was interesting in taking a nursing course abroad to give me more experience in the work i do everyday. so in order for me to be accepted at the school holding the said course abroad, i´d need a declaration/ statement of service signed by her.....that´s exactly what she´s given me!

i´m going on vacation in october and when i come back and she asks anything about my course certificate, i´ll tell her that it will take sometime to arrive in our country and as soon as i have the certificate in my hands, i´ll give her a copy

is my action acceptable? its not that easy to find a paid nursing job in the philippines right now so im trying to hold my position as long as i can. definitely! who will pay for our expenses if we dont work??? we must guarantee our jobs just in case. i´ve already been unemployed for 6 months so i know exactly what it feels like...."

does IDP-education offer free counselling services for nurses who want to undergo IRON?

ACFE in Melbourne offers 5 thousand AUS dollars discount to deserving overseas qualified nurses. I know someone who was granted such for January 2010 intake, it think they do it regularly offering discounts to one student every intake.

or

Try HPH which has the cheapest BP fee (4k) but last time I heard there are 180 plus applicants: overseas and Australian competing for 25 slots. If you have the specialize experience or better resume. you might have a chance ;)

Thank you, unadunad.

ACFE and HPH are not yet responding. I have emailed them several times and received no answer. Has anybody applied to ACT? Im about to forward my application there.

so theres nothing in what im trying to do. :yeah:

ok then, i'll just send my previous experience to the bp school of my choice if they'll ask for my cv.

thanks for ur advice.how come this immigration consultancy im planning to apply, told me that theres no ielts needed.since theres bridging program they offer.thats y im a little bit confused.could anyone help me if theres anyway on how can i check if this immigration consultancy has license ?

is everyone who is currently on a short stay visa (456) allowed to extend anytime?

im planning to attend la trobe but their 13 week program is not within the time frame in which the 456 visa holder (3months) is allowed to legally stay in Australia.

also, ive read somewhere in this thread that nurses with 456 visa who are done with their BP applied for a tourist visa while still in Australia to lengthen their stay. in regard to this, i just want to know if everyone is allowed to go for this route as well. if not, what are the prerequisites?

because there are BP schools who accept students even without the IELTS or with lower IELTS score. BUT you cant be a registered nurse in Australia if you can not achive the "at least 7 score" in all subtests because it is one of AHPRA's requirements to intl nurses.
