Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
hi everyone.im new here.i would like to give me ur advice about this bridging program in australia that does not require for ielts.is this true?could anyone help me with this?thank you.
IELTS is a requirement for work visa application and required by most BP providers, even if APHRA waived it because you provided document as a proof that your secondary education was conducted in English. This issue has been discussed lately. There is no escape, one needs IELTS 7.0 each band to become OZ RN.It is the reality.
Friendly advice, read page 1 of this thread. This thread is long but worth the read. Good luck :)
helloalso got my eligibility letter. now searching for a school for the BP. i only have relatives in sydney so that leaves me with no other option other than CON burwood. CON's BP fee is 10k AUD. i dunno if I can come up with that amount soon. does anybody know a school which offers scholarship grants to overseas qualified nurses? or schools that has a cheaper enrollment fee? it's a huge amount to invest in.
hoping to hear from anybody soon! :))
god bless
ACFE in Melbourne offers 5 thousand AUS dollars discount to deserving overseas qualified nurses. I know someone who was granted such for January 2010 intake, it think they do it regularly offering discounts to one student every intake.
or
Try HPH which has the cheapest BP fee (4k) but last time I heard there are 180 plus applicants: overseas and Australian competing for 25 slots. If you have the specialize experience or better resume. you might have a chance
does AHPRA, the BP school, and the employer (sponsor) work hand in hand during the the process of work visa? im just asking because during my AHPRA registration, i did not include my current employer and im planning to do the same during my BP schools application.
i am doing this because it is not that easy to ask for the statement of service from the hospital that im working in right now and also they might not renew my contract once they find out that im planning to go to Aus since there are a lot of applicants who can replace me.
im asking this because obviously my work experience in my CV wont be the same during my AHPRA and BP application to my job application in the future.
is my action acceptable? its not that easy to find a paid nursing job in the philippines right now so im trying to hold my position as long as i can.
thanks

You could always update your CV. The CV I submitted to AHPRA was certainly different to I what i forwarded to the BP schools.
hi everyone. i'm new in this site. i welcome myself!haha. anyway, which is better for me: apply to AHPRA directly or apply through an agency?? I'm RN, USRN with 2 months experience as nurse trainee.. thank you!
do it yourself.just easy..but you need to have patience and have time reading this forum from page 1..you'll learn everything about processing..and its cheaper than having an agency :) goodluck

It's a no brainer, of course. Applying by yourself won't cost you anything other than the Aus$450.00 processing fee with AHPRA (This excludes the cost of mailing, documentations, and the cost of Bridging Program). But you have to do everything by yourself just like most if not all of the forumers here. It's easy and very doable for as long as you have the patience for the legwork and diligence to research on your own. If you want help, read from page 1 of this thread. Consider this thread as your "professional agency" and do it your self manual entitled "An Idiot's Guide to Becoming a Filipino Registered Nurse in Australia"... rolled in to one!!!! .....:yeah:
