Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

No more interview. Once you've got the document from them to include in your visa application then you made it through CON's initial entry. What's left to do is just to scan and email them your approved visa and you're ready to go. Goodluck :)P.S. Well that is per April-June 2011 Batch. I dunno if they had recent changes.
hello miks103... Did you take your BP in CON? I tried contacting them and they told that they only enroll students that were referred to them by AHPRA, what does this mean? Should the eligibility letter include a suggestion of their school to be enrolled in?
thanks to hot_rod3484 for the msg. thanx to mhai for the reply.
mhai, i looked up castlemaine but their last iron course already commenced last august.
all of the other uni's had theirs last may. you guys know any other bp provider? is etea still open for october?
also, which visa do we apply for? is the short stay visa better than the student visa?
thanks.

No problem. Castlemaine's next intake will be on February 2012. As far as I know, ETEA is still open for October intake. You also might want to check out AAON, Ballarat Health Services, ACFE, CON and William Light, I believe all of them have intake on September.

hey hot_rod... have you applied for a BP school yet? where? thanks for the info, BTW...=)
the thing about the horrific process of a filipino nurse wanting to be an AU RN...i need to sell my mother (breadwinner) to the nearest pawnshop to be able to pay all the fees!
if i fail BP, or pass BP but don't get a job, i will die of extreme low self-esteem and melt to hell! i won't be able to redeem myself anymore! please kill me right now!
to all filipino AU RNs who have undergone the BP, PLEASE GIVE US YOUR DETAILED EXPERIENCES ON THE TIME PERIOD RIGHT AFTER GRADUATING BP UNTIL YOU LANDED A JOB ... especially universities, hospitals and nursing homes that accept nurses with ZERO EXPERIENCE!
PANIC ATTACK!
hospitals that conduct BP will 100% DON'T HIRE their BP students? huhuhuh
in BP, during the clinical part in a hospital, will the hospital pay us for our nursing duties their?
is it easier to find work in aged care than in a hospital? what about the salary difference? i really don't care just as long as they pay me enough so i can afford a room and instant noodles (or maybe i'll just turn stray birds into fried chicken haha!)
what if after BP graduation, i still can't find a job in a hospital or nursing home, what is the easiest way to kill myself?
i need an australian lover to cure my job insecurities! haha!
sorry, i'm a very extreme pessimist! waah! Lady GaGa help me! but please i need answers! i'm not scaring or being dramatic (although i really sound like one), i just put into words my fears, please don't get me wrong
i can't wait to be an AU RN so i'll be able to watch live concerts of Darren Hayes, Sam Sparro and other international artists (because they seldom go to the Philippines, and Araneta Coliseum has a very horrible sound system haha!)
i can't wait to be an AU RN because i love to be in a multiracial country like AU! (i know because i've been to AU 2 months ago, )
PANIC ATTACK ROUND 2! Diazepam 10000000mg STAT! *dead*

Wow... that's really fast... im not sure if I'll apply in CON... my aunt is in Vic and I'm hoping to stay with her during my BP to save money... Now, im thinking maybe I should apply...hehe I still have to ask my parents about this.. their application fee is quite expensive too...huhu:cry:But 1week is really fast... did they say in the letter that your intake will be this september? Did they send the letter through email of snailmail??=) im sscared of snailmails not reaching our province already after what I encountered....:uhoh21:
By the way, did they send you a notice that they have received your application?
The lady from CON told me that she'll be posting the letter (hard copy) by mail but also emailed me the soft copy as a pdf attachment. I asked her if she thinks the embassy will accept my printed copy but she said she's not sure. But I'm gonna try, because I want to apply for the visa hopefully within this week, Friday the latest. I don't think I'll be able to sit still and wait for the 'snail mail' to arrive.
Right after I sent my application form and other requirements by email I rang her up that same day to confirm. She also sent an email. Then she gave me the go signal to pay the fee.
