New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi there Lithotomy, sweet tooth and ojos!

Im also heading for the CON by September.

Please PM me and thanks for the infos mikyong!

Sent mine in Vic. Haha. And based on others who sent it there, looks like it's gonna be 7 months or more. I just sent last week the additional docs they asked.

Were you asked to send additional documents as well?

Hi! I wonder what's taking so long for Vic to process applications. I sent additional docs a month ago. It has been 5 months since I lodged my application. And no decision to date. waaaaa!!! :crying2: By the way, who is your registration officer?

Do you guys know of a case that was denied by Ahpra? The latest thing my registration officer asked was regarding additional nursing educ taken more than 3 months in length. It isn't a requirement right?

hi everyone! im just a newbie and knows little thing about migration to aus. planning to apply for a student visa. i came accross with the IDP education website and made an enquiry. is it ok if you ask the IDP on what course you need to enroll that would land you a working or perm visa after completing the course? please help guys. and also is this IDP org assist future students for free as what is claimed with the email in response to my initial enquiry?

i am a fresh grad nurse. no experience yet. what is the most intelligent plan for me. i have relatives in sydney.

hopeful for any help =) tnx again

Probably because there are more applications sent in their office than the rest. I also sent additional documents a week ago and tried emailing my registration officer for an update but I got no reply yet. It has been more than 5 months already. Maybe we just have to wait for a little. Others here receive their eligibility letter after 7 months of waiting.

By the way, where are you planning to take your BP?

nobody i know of.. it is expensive to do BSN post reg.. 99.9% of previous and current members here want to save money, thus, they prefer doing BP.. cheaper and quicker (2-3 mos. study)..

actually, this thread was created May 2008.. it reached almost 1,000 pages.. thus, this "part 2" was created..

you need 3 mos. nursing experience (i.e. volunteer, training, or paid/employed).

glioblastoma is missing in action for almost a year already, dont know where he/she is, but he/she left a legacy by writing detailed posts which could help you a lot..

also read ahpra website, the source fountain of all information here..

option "a" ......

deal and engage with IDP which will definitely assist you with everything as part of the services they render.. if you do deal with them, then do not waste your time reading this thread.. let IDP handle everything.. of course, you have to pay expensive service/processing fees to IDP... yes, expensive:eek: is the word..

option "b" .....

do your own, with the help of this thread and other members here.. however, you must take effort to read and follow the thread.. but you will save thousands of pesos because we do not charge any service fees, just love will do:heartbeat..

good luck... cheers!:clown:

Hi zon,

I also sent my docs to NSW last june 10th and still havent heard from them:cool:

I sent them an email and they said that ishould wait for 4-6 weeks to have a initial reaply, however it´ll be 6 weeks tomorrow that i sent my application and I´m starting to get worried:uhoh3:

I´m so disheartened:idea: I should have sent my docs to WA....

When did u send yours?

I sent mine first week of May. I gave them a ring and they told me that my application is still on queue. I'm thinking about trying to call them again...I will ask them if I could have my application transferred to WA. Have you been contacted by a registration officer in NSW?

in my 3 years here, nobody admitted he/she was totally denied.. the only instance i can confirm is that one or two of the previous members' application here were downgraded to EN..

your reg. officer's question.. they just ask question so that you will feel that they are working on your application and then you continue waiting again (hehehehe errr, just kidding mate... don't worry about that question, just answer it honestly, that's all.... don't lose sleep on it...).
