Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

More like 5-6 dollArs an hour. No I do not know how you get sponsored jobs just google hospitals and aged care providers, you may have to do a lot of research yourself.
in our local currency that would be about Php 270 difference per hour so roughly about Php 45k in a month and Php 540k.
thats HUGE!!!
whats that average monthly salary of entry-level nurses in Australia?
whew! i never thought gathering some infos would be this hard. i wish it was as easy and as common as applying for NCLEX.lol thanks anyways.. I appreciate your time :)
there is an easy way to do aussie application if you want spoon feeding short cut way,..... hire/sign a contra8 ct with a consultancy/agency and pay thousands of pesos, the problem is, they know less information than information that is written/discussed here... we(as a group) do not know everything here, but one thing sure, we (as as a group) know more than those so-called consultancy/agency operating in phils... the information here is free as compared to consultancy/agency... but as what the other member had said, read this thread.. reading
this thread is nothing when compared prior july 2010 where there are 8 websites you have to read.. now, you only have to read 1 website, AHPRA... but anyway, you are already in USA working so i assume for the sake of assuming you do not need aussie much...
Hi y'all! :) i'm a volunteer nurse for a year now...i just would like to ask how HUGE my chance of landing a permanent RN job in australia ?(huge just being "positive" in my situation) :) i mean, are there level entry nursing job vacancies there? and would they be willing to sponsor a work permit if i'm a level entry nurse? what should one do afte BP, i mean, of course look for a job, but the visa is just for three months for the business visa, and BP is also three months more or less, what's the usual scenario? go back to the philippines or hired in australia as an RN in a nursing home? (that is, for nurses who don't have enough length of experience) and when I work in a nursing home, what are the chances of getting a nursing job in the hospital after some time?
if it is okey, may i ask if you are really serious of applying/working here in oz?
did you know that there are 8 nursing boards back then, prior july 2010, thus, 8 websites.. right now, we only have one website, AHPRA..
cheers!
The Devil's Advocate
The situation here in SA (South Australia) at the moment is this...
There is a surplus of Oz RNs who can't find jobs.
Nursing homes are finding it difficult to hire nurses that will need a 457 visa (work visa)
It's easier for any employer to hire an Oz RN
The public hospitals are only issuing 1 year contracts
My advice - do your research.
Just the facts.
I just want to share, I recently receive my eligibility letter from NMBA VIC. I sent my application last February 2011. Is there anyone here planning to take their bridging program this coming August or September 2011, and in what school? I'm still undecided as to where to take my bp. I'm having a close look at CON, Castlemaine, and ETEA any recommendations? As for the visa, what type would be the best option (Student or Business Visit) and how long is the processing? Thank you

You will know if they need additional documents because they will communicate it to you through email. You can check the list of course provider in the AHPRA website. From there you can check the website of each schools that offer a bridging program for overseas qualified nurses.

ive heard of the above information, directly from my co-worker Filipino RN here who came from SA.. yep, above information is consistent to what my co-worker had said to me..
after reading the above reply, my anxiety grew one notch higher
im going nuts here! it's already 5 months(since i sent my papers to VIc) and still i dont have my eligibility yet! my ielts will be expiring march next year! do you guys think 8 months(before expiration) will be enough for bp, registration, finding work(from what i've read isnt a walk in the park) and having my business visa to working visa? (i really dont want to undergo ielts again!just thinking about it makes me want to throw up)
