New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Specializes in Med-Surg / ICU / Aged Care.

it pays to read the thread to have a good understanding of the Australian , nursing's recent developments, processes, and knowing very simple but important facts that would influence your choices/decisions.. otherwise, you thought "this is it" but this thread said "it's not it", and you did not know because you did not bother to follow the thread... things are getting tougher now here, you need every edge you must have, miss some of it, then you miss big time..

I have a sister who is residing in Brisbane so as much as possible i also want to settle there.

Just wondering. Why don't you apply as a skilled sponsored migrant if you have a sister in Brisbane? If that's an option for you then after you finish your BP, getting a job would be easier because your prospective employer will not need to get you a visa.

there are two reasons:

1. im not sure if shes already eligible to sponsor me since her family just settled there last year (may 2010).

2. when i checked the points test, i only managed to get 60pts. 65 is the minimum.

just in case, nobody will answer your question on "step by step", then follow these steps:

1) check their website, and get their landline number and email address..

2) email or call them and inquire what documents they require and qualifications they demand.. obviously, you are required to have eligibility letter of ahpra..

3) comply with their requirements..

4) pay what needs to be paid to CON..

5) obtain from them "offer of place" (basically a document proving you are enrolled)..

Thank you. I called them earlier and they basically said the same things as above. most important is the ahpra letter.I am planning to have my BP in CON NSW this Sept. Can anyone share their experiences in CON? Timeline? Thank you!

hey everyone..!

I'm planning to pass my application to AHPRA and wanting to take my BP in NSW. Do have any advise for me and are there still schools in NSW offering BP?

some states are better than other states... but, situation have been changing rapidly.. getting tougher..

previously, your employment success depends 100% of you being just simply an Australia RN, and you will get a job.. nowadays, your success will depend on: 40% being a Australia RN, 30% credentials, 30% luck/prayers.. you need those 3 factors to succeed..

i have 27 months of experience in the ER but all of it are only volunteer experiences, is that an enough credential?

Where are you in Australia cioman? Correct me if im wrong,if you take your BP in a certain state(for example you took it at ETEA in Victoria), you will be only registered at Victoria and not on other states? is that correct?

27 months? so that would be 2 years and 3 months? is that for real??? you volunteered that long. WOW...

bro, your question has been asked a lot of times already. i also raised that question last week.

Did you check your spam folder in your email? I found the email from my registration officer in my spam folder.. I know your eligibility will arrive really really soon. :) my application is just 4days ahead from yours.. Patience.. It will come. :) where are you planning to take your BP, if I may ask?

I'm still undecided but I'm considering taking my bp at CON or VCHN. yes, I've checked my spam folder, still no email from a registration officer. I'm really praying that it will arrive soon.

thanks! goodluck to all!

where did you pass your application babywish? at WA?:)

For those who had their vaccinations all over again, can you please recommend a place where you had it? Thank you.

just in case your question was not answered last week.... the answer is you can do your BP in any state and after you get your initial registration you can practice in any state of Australia.:)

hi there i am opting for a future in Australia. I read this news that recently Australian government is holding applications for foreign nurses beginning this year until 2013? here's the site http://www.mb.com.ph/node/325831/au

however, the posts and replies in this forum are seem to be positive. i am really confused. I hope i can be enlightened with the current situation there and if the chances for application are still good
