Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

No worries about the email add; about sending PM, this is crazy but I don't know how to send pm here it would be great if let me know how. Thanks in advance
Anyway, may I ask is payment for BP is through credit card also?
You mentioned earlier that I shouldn't limit my choice to Melbourne as they only chose applicant after successful telephone interview. So is it best to send application to various Colleges who offers BP? (mm... more more money...)
I'd also like to know if “On Arrival” Reception Service that cost $90 is practical?
and going for a short stay visa do you have to settle a health insurance while at Oz?
@nurseonduty17- VCHN is offering BP earliest possible starts on 20th of June 2011
Hello guys,
Just want to share this email I received from AHPRA VIC this morning because I'm really confused and bothered if what does it mean. I don't have yet an Employment offer in OZ since I'm still in the process of applying for eligibility to register as a nurse and I'm afraid they might not approve my application since I don't have yet an employment offer.
Kindly share your ideas about this and please give me some advise.
Thank you in advance =)
"Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your application for general registration. As an international qualified nurse / midwife, we would like to inquire if you have an employment offer from a health service organisation in Australia.
If you have been offered a position, please provide a scanned copy of your letter of offer with your AHPRA reference number on the email provided below. Your reference number was provided to you on the Preliminary Assessment email you received from AHPRA.
Please note that we cannot respond to any registration queries that are not related to the confirmation of an offer for employment. When we receive your letter for permanent employment, we will confirm the information from the heath service organisation to verify your employment.

Employment Offer
Guys, I just got an email from AHPRA asking me if I have an employment offer from a health service organization in Australia, and if there is, they are asking me to provide a scanned copy of the letter from the email they provided.
Well, I do not have any offers because Im actually taking the BP so that after the BP then I would be employed hopefully. Who among here got the same email? Just wondering though why they're asking. I think not replying to the email means "NO" so Im just leaving it that way. What do you guys think?
Is this ahpra's new policy?
When did you submit your application? My friend also received the same email just this morning. As for me, I never received this kind of question from ahpra.
I am in contact with my registration officer since they received my application last December. I was never questioned about an australian employer. Is this their new policy?
As for me, I am in the last stage of assessment. I just submitted a new set of document to support my TOR last week.
Personally, I will not worry so much about their inquiry if you have an australian employer. I checked the ahpra website now and there is no change in their requirements for registration.
This is just probably for ahpra to check if an applicant has a ready employer after registration. That way, they can facilitate and fast track the processing of those who have ready employers already. I recently saw another blogsite where nurses from UK are there sharing their experiences. This UK nurses have ready employers already waiting for them in australia. And the processing of their papers have taken so long that their prospective employers are complaining about the delay.
This is probably why ahpra is now asking for this certification of employment in australia. This is just my opinion though. I hope I have allayed the fears of the ones who received this new email.
