Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
to you and to all who have doubts....for the sake of being selfish about this things, i will be glad if all of you will back out because it means less competition on my part and on my sister whom i will help later to become a RN in Australia..
and so in many instances, i have given my opinion/encourage everybody on why you should pursue becoming RN here in Australia.. but if anyone of you or if many of you will back out, the reality is, it will have a very positive effect on me and my sister, because it means fewer competitors in the job market..
so come think of it really, i should discourage all of you instead to come here for my own and my sister's benefit... perhaps i will try the other way, that is, i will no longer give encouraging words, but i will just continue give information and help as much as i can.. at least, at the end of the day, it will be your choice or your own conscience which will decide and not because i encourage you to do so..
cheers! good luck!
hahaha, hello, cioman.. it's 1am here and i'm enjoying your "words of Discouragement".. but, fat chance, i'll still join you , and your sister of course.. One day.. :heartbeat
i suggest you read the first few pages of the thread...it will just take you a few minutes, much better if you can take time to read the entire thread 'coz i guarantee you its very informative and helpful (your questions are among the basic of all questions that can be answered in the first few pages of the thread, and the instructions are all given in the agos-04 form as well).but as far as i recall (since i don't have much time to browse back the pages & i'm done with my eligibility):
- agos 04 application form (should this be notarized too?) - original copy (not certified), i don't see a portion where you are asked to notarize it
- passport - yes. certified copy.
- philippine driver's license - i don't see this being asked. are you referring to the 100 points proof of identity? if that is so, your passport and birth certificate will do right?
- certificate of employment - original or certified copy
- nbi clearance - this is not being asked also in the agos-04 right? unless you have a previous criminal record that has been cleared then you attach this.
- prc license - yes. certified.
- (should i really present a bank account or atm card photocopy?) - again, this isn't asked in the agos-04 right?
you really should just follow what is being required in the form.
don't forget your:
-tor (sent directly by your school to ahpra)
- diplomas (high school and college) - certified
- ielts (sent directly by idp to ahpra)
- curriculum vitae
- certificate of good standing/verification of license - (sent directly by prc to ahpra)
- birth records/marriage records if applicable
payment can be made through credit card, cheque, money order. if you browse the pages of this thread you can actually see how others did it, but mine was paid through credit card.
if you pay using credit card, then you settle it along with your requirements since there is a portion in the agos-04 asking you the card details. well basically, all forms of payment should be made with the application.
193 pages is not so much to read in return of a handful of information you can get. i really hope everyone are patient to read them because i personally just went through my application by reading this thread post by post, detail by detail, and my application was never returned nor required additional documents (except the changes due to the transition of the boards), in other words they were all complete and i owe it all to this thread and by reading ahpra website too.
goodluck :)
thank you so much! :)
vaccines are very expensive! i wish the required vaccines can be bought at mercury drug then i'll have my doctor friend inject it to me, i'm sure the cost would be halved! :hlk:
and tst providers won't be happy about this.. hehe. less moolah.
tst unhappy:eek:, nurses like you and me happy:lol2:
hi! question here regarding ahpra application: should i apply to the state where my possible bp schools are located? if for example i apply to ahpra west aus am i not allowed to take bp in a school in vic or is it ok to apply at any state?
dear razektine, the answer is yes, you may opt to apply to whichever state you "fancy" and yes, you can use your eligibility to any of aphra accredited bp schools.
make sure to have [color=rgb(0, 255, 255)]completed every single requirement. or else, it's going to be a looong year. (we wouldn't want that, would we? ) getting an eligibility is just a step forward. the finish line or shall i say, getting lucky enough to land a good job post bp is still way, way ahead. best of luck and pray that everything will turn out well. :heartbeat
