Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

@Angel_Kat216Are you planning to take BP in Deakin University by January next year. Never imagined they are full already this year!
I'm actually almost done with all the requirements except that when I renewed my NBI clearance, I got a "HIT". Such a hassle I know eventhough I don't have a common name. I just hope I'd be done and be able to send the requirements next week.
Hi Princess, are you preparing requirements for AHPRA or for the school already? If it's AHPRA, I don't think you need the NBI Clearance yet 'coz I never submitted one as long as all your answers are a "NO" in the criminal check portion :) But if you want to be sure about it you can just submit it along, just that I never submitted one, I'm actually still waiting for my NBI now for Visa purpose already (it also got a HIT) :)

Is that so? Yay! Thanks for the info. I'll just have my NBI clearance for the visa thing in the future then.
By the way, do I also need to attach my certificates for the First Aid and BLS training? TIA!:)

re: NBI Clearance. Yes I didn't submit it during my application with AHPRA because if you take a look closely to what is being asked in questions #14 and #15, if your answer is 'NO' then proceed to the next question, if your answer is 'YES' then you must attach separate sheet for details that do not fit the space provided (explaining why you ticked the 'YES'). It didn't ask you to attach an NBI or a Police clearance at all. But like I said it is your option whether to attach it because it really depends on your Case Officer :)
First Aid and BLS Training and all other Nursing-related trainings, yes I included them in my documents when I submitted it to NMBA-NSW before . Goodluck :)

Yep, that's what I'm planning for.. Hopefully I make it in time for enrollment before September2011..
Now, that sucks.. So once you get the clearance send it immediately on the same day.. You still have time to enroll if you apply this month.. Good luck! :)
hi everyone. i am in the process of finding a school where i can do my bp. my ahpra eligibility letter was issued by the office in victoria and from what i and everyone else understood, i can apply to anywhere in australia as all the boards are now under ahpra. the thing is, the college of nursing is asking me to get a recommendation letter from ahpra nsw so i called ahpra today and the person i talked to reinforced our belief that the letter issued after the transition makes one eligible to study in any accredited college or institution offering the bridging program. i then informed the college of nursing about this and i hope they accept the explanation so that i can start fixing things in time for the april intake. anyone here who is in for the april intake? :)
@Miks103:Okay! I'm glad I asked about the other certificates. I almost forgot about it. Thanks much!
@Angel_kat216:
I read from your previous post your still in the IELTS part. Have you taken the exam already or your done with it.
Neither, I haven't even started reviewing yet.. I can start anytime I want to coz I'm fully paid but I told the review center that I'll wait for my fiance to enroll so we'd be in 1 class (his request and yes I do spoil him.. hehe). Currently I'm reading this thread and I'm on page 76 already.. I'm also watching BBC news and some AFC shows for British accent and the Australian network for the Aussie accent.. I'm not that bad with listening but since I'm not doing anything might as well start with reviewing on my own..
