Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
First of all I'm engaged to my boyfriend who is also a Filipino RN, so I don't think I'll be looking forward to meeting somebody while studying and that's not the reason for me to go Australia but I'll be looking forward to meeting new people and make new friends.Yeah, it's a matter of personal choice whether I should take the 1year conversion course or the bridging course. But it's my Uncle who will be sponsoring me, guess he has the cash to burn if we wants me to take the AUD25,000. lol Hope that he understands that I don't wanna go back to school for another year when I can just study for 3months and get the needed learning to apply as a RN in Australia.
Which state are you in and which city? :)
:-) lucky bloke you have.. me in NSW rural... another we are 2 filipino RNs in our nursing home now, 1 more is coming soon, family is getting bigger, but will later go smaller when we start transferring..
i reckon your uncle is not aware of the 3 month BP.. if you cant convince him, tell me, i'l show you how..
cheers!
Ola!Just want to clarify the total fees to be paid to AHPRA:
Application for registration- 115
Fee for annual renewal of registration- 115
Overseas assessment charge- 220
Total: 450 AUD???
Anybody with a violent reaction? lol =)
Help please! thanks in advance =)
one of the item is pro-rata, i reckon it's the annual renewal fee, thus, it may be lesser.. you will only know the final amount once the collect it from you.. but for budget purposes, think of 450 AUD...
Hi guys, should I go for my medicals before I apply for the 456 visa? Or should I apply for visa first then wait for the embassy to ask me so. Any ideas? thanks in advance :)
it depends on your gut feel... if you are really sure that you will be approved of 456 visa, then better have medicals 2 - 3 months prior visa application, the reason is that if something is "wrong" with your medicals then you still have to time to correct it without delaying your visa processing.. plus, if you're medicals are okey and submitted already then visa processing will be faster because they dont have to wait for your medicals because you have done it already..
if you have doubts about your visa approval, then it's up to you, hence apply visa first and wait for their instruction on medicals..
