New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I haven't actually sent my documents yet. I'm still in the process of completing everything before I sent it. So what if your in the middle of doing the bridging course and your IELTS expires, would that be fine?

Another thing, so you apply for visa first before applying for the school? Sorry for the confusion, just wanna clarify all these things in mind. Thanks!

hey guys,

aside from IELTS, what other documents are needed to be sent directly to AHPRA?

should TOR and certificate of good standing be sent directly to them by my school and prc respectively? or i could just attached these together with my application form?

im really confuse

thanks

another question, i sent my IETS result to AHPRA-Brisbane (QLD)

if ever i get my eligibility, am i only allowed to attend my bridging course in schools that are located in brisbane? or for as long as i have my eligibility, i can apply to any school regardless of the location of AHPRA that i submitted my docs?

please clarify.

thanks

another question,

do i need to also request for the verification of my license from vermont to be sent directly to AHPRA?

Hi Princess, I think if your IELTS expires while you are doing the bridging course that would be fine as long as you have already been assessed by AHPRA and ofcourse the school. That would only be a problem if you enroll in a bridging/conversion program directly without AHPRA eligibility assessment, then you would have to submit later on to AHPRA your unexpired IELTS result for registration purpose.

I called College of Nursing, NSW today and they told me to initially mail all other requirements (except the visa) to them, after which they will send me their letter of offer which I will use in my application for the short-stay visa. Later on when I am granted the visa I can just scan it and email it to them. I don't know for the other schools, they might have a different policy for it. Meaning, you have to let your school know first your intention to enroll with them by sending over your requirements so they can also save a slot for you to match your visa application :)

Goodluck!

The following are to be sent directly:

1. IELTS (from IDP to AHPRA)

2. TOR (school to AHPRA)

3. Certificate of Good Standing (PRC to AHPRA)

The rest of the required docs can be attached to your application form. Goodluck :)

The rest of your questions I have no idea :D

miks answered your questions.. just want to further clarify...

you must first get a letter of offer or placement from the BP school before you apply for student or 456 visa BECAUSE that is your documentary proof of why DIAC should approve your visa.... cheers!

as far as we know and that nobody has corrected us yet, our opinion on this matter which has been discussed

in the previous pages long time ago in this thread, is that YES you can attend to BP schools outside queensland, like in victoria.. at any rate, i do not think there is a BP school now in brisbane or queensland, is there any school

you know of?? tell us, bkoz we don't know of one there in queensland..

thread member 14162s001 and me, had discussions about vermont license just recently, as in just recently really..

hello, could anyone please post the sample vaccination requirements for the BP. how long will I have to complete that if I do not possessed any records of vaccinations?

the vaccination requirements for BP will generally depend on your BP school and the state you will have your BP.. there are vaccinations which are not required in a certain state but are required in another state.. therefore you

should check the website of the BP school for the complete and accurate list of required vaccinations..

pls researched on it, or hopefully anyone here could again give the list.. there are vaccines which you do not need to have because you were infected already like chickenpox, thus, you just need a lab report and doctor's certification.. there are vaccines that requires 2 shots with a 1 month gap for each shot... do not worry much

about any old records of vaccinations (i dont have one, but i did have vaccines shots before) because it can

be checked via lab blood test (like hepa vacc).. i dont have old record of hepa vacc but i had blood test which

showed by immune level, so i just have it attached to my doctor's certification..

use the google in the net for research, then give us the list, then we can explain and guide further.. if you like, you can research sometime July-August 2010 last year of this thread were i had discussions on this matter with other members..

dont worry much about complying the vaccinations because you can comply easily, worry about the cost because it is expensive..
