New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

really not sure about the visa numbers. from what I have been reading, if you're taking the bp, get the 456.

yup, the conversion is for 1 year, that's why you would need a student visa. I posted the computation here because there are still those that will go through the conversion route :)

oh, ok, i thought its a must that i get the student visa for the BP, thanks doza:D

do you know how much is enough showmoney for the 456?

i tried to "googling" for it..but i cant seem to find any Bridging programs.. im thinking of applying in Victoria if ds is the case..coz there are schools offerring this program..:) what school can you recommend me cioman94, if ever i get the boards approval for BP..

thank you very much for your time

God bless! :nurse:

based on others' comments, indeed there are no bp providers yet in qld..

sorry im not totally familiar of the requirements of each schools.... examples of schools: ETEA, VCHN, UB..

your experience will matter much in relation to the requirement of the school.. i dont know your experience..

nways, there was a link that was provided in one of the posts above..

tuition fee would also be a factor... overall, even if you have it all, it still boils down to the school's decision whether to give you a slot or not in a particular batch..

you really need a ton of reading.. also try asking other forumers who have their bps.

The 456 is a short stay visa, is it the same with tourist visa?. With conversion course, you mean the 1 year study thing, not the 3 month BP?

tourist visa,,, you are not allowed to do BP.... that's why we apply for 456, suitable for those studying in courses which are less than 3 months like BP.. lesser money or show money is required for 456 unlike the student visa.. better ask again other forumers how much.. good luck..

Do you know where can we get a form to apply for a LICENSE VERIFICATION from PRC to APHRA?

The Verification form should be sent directly to APHRA right?

Hi. Anyone doing their bridging in VCHN ? Need help how to apply 456 VISA .

I know of a friend who is just applying to the nurses board in Australia and is also having a great difficulty understanding the new forms. In as much as I would like to help him, I also don't know much on how to fill the new form since I applied through NBV before.

Has anyone here applied for a student visa 575 for their BP?

I know of a friend who has been enrolled in a BP and was granted a student visa 575 for six month validity, multiple entry. It only took about 9 days for his visa to be granted.

are you also getting the 575 visa? someone also advised us that 575 is suitable for the BP,but im still unsure if its the right visa. do you know the requirements? is the BP course a non-award course?I just called the DIAC hotline regarding student visas but the operator just said, it all depends on what kind of course the bridging program is.
