Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hello guys! Will the NBV email me or inform me that they have already received my application?
Thanks!
yup they will, or you could email them regarding the status of your application. don't forget to type in your full name, country you're from and your birth date and when did you sent all your documents

Because of difficulty in finding employment here in Perth, you now see Aussies cleaning windshields at traffic lights like those you see in the streets of metro Manila. This is really shocking. Is this even legal? Kids also resort to this kind of "job". And you pay them a dollar for doing so. Jeez. What's happening to Perth? A lot of people here are now living in poverty. This is really a big turn off. Where are the money from the mining going?
Ryan09: how's the situation in Victoria? Do you also see people doing this kind of "job" there?

Hello to all! I'll be attending the BP at ETEA in Victoria this May. I'm leaving 2 weeks from now. I'm kinda worried about the job hunting thing. Can you advice me or give me some tips in looking for a job there? Can I start looking for employers right now or during the bridging program? I saw some ads that offer jobs in Aged Care, are those nursing homes & is it advisable to start there? I really want to work in a hospital. Thanks!

If you're choosy you'll really have a hard time looking for a job, mate. Hospital jobs are at the rural. Or unless your credentials are competitive and your bp performance is excellent then you might land a job at city hospitals. Pls keep updated once you graduate.
Wingcharm: Yup, it's upsetting seeing these people. They say they can't find jobs. This is so unaustralian. I've never seen this before in qld or even at the rural at the north. I think this is "unique" to Perth bec of the current wa economy. Oh, aus dollar is falling bec of the proposed mining tax. Mining investors are running away.
Don't worry. Just transfer to another state then you're fine. Wa really sucks in terms of everything. That's why it's the least developed. The airport alone sucks and they're not doing anything about it. I miss qld.

hey, good luk and God speed, imsodizzy!!!
Reiken and I are planning to take the September intake of ETEA. Hopefully we will be offered slots.
Yup! Only those who can afford opt for aus and nz. The tuition of the 3 mos bp in Vic is already equivalent to 4 yrs nrsg in the phils. And include your assessment, pocket money, accomodation, and plane ticket that would be enough allowance for your 4 yrs nrsg life again. You need moolah to make moolah. And it's good that not all highly skilled nurses can afford to go overseas to prevent brain drain in our country. As I see it, I think right from the start nrsg is really for the rich. In my uni, nrsg students are the richest 2nd only to med students. That's why I don't believe nrsg is the hope against poverty. DUH???? How can a poor nurse afford nclex and so much more bp programs or even their own clinical duties during their college life. The media should stop exaggerrating abt nrsg. Bec of them our profession is now a joke. Look what's happening to our fresh graduates and those paying just to volunteer. And now, nrsg job in aus is hard to come by even for Aussies and pr. We need an eye opener bec our countrymen are totally brainwashed. "Take nursing to get rich." There's nothing true in this.In addition, nrsg job is hard to come by all over the world. There are plenty of unemployed Canadian, American and European nurses. The person who said that nrsg is an in demand profession should rot in hell.
"I agree,, cause it's too expensive to live in Australia.. Lucky I have work to support myself but I'm still asking money for my parents :("
