Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hi everyone!Anyone still planning on taking QNC's Challenge Test? I have some reviewers/books here for Part A of the exam which I bought before from two contributors of this thread. For those interested, just pm me guys. Thanks!
QNC already removed it.. they are only offering the undergraduate program, which is 2 years
not yet @jakey..i still have 1 more week to go, then after that will be our graduation while our registration is being processed by the NBV...(i hope so...lol..)thank you...dont worry we will be soon colleagues in down under
good luck...
Congratulations in advance Ryan09...thank you too for helping us...good things really happen to deserving people :)
hi everyone, sorry i don't have the time to read back.... finished my bp at la trobe last march 12, got my nbv license end of march, got my police check yesterday.... got an agency job here and the agency will sponsor me by june so i extended my stay from student visa to a visitor visa while waiting for my 457 sponsor. the agency reached their limit for sponsorship already for half of the year so i need to wait until june...
hope all is well. i got another interview on wednesday . fingers crossed.
who is going to la trobe-bendigo this june?
i agree with Ryan to go and try ETEA if you can or VCHN because they got their hospitals or ready employment right after you finish bridge program... the Uni would usually treat you like a regular student and we are on our own after the course. the whole class did not get any help from Uni in getting a job, the agency of my classmates didn't help either... but the real scenario is you will have to give it safely 4 months before you land a job...
the hospitals or facilities will not contact you until the application close date and sometimes it;s still one or 2 months closing date. they won't enteratin you either even if you say you are waiting for your registration because they need the license number... if you tell them, you are still waiting, they'll tell you to call back once you got your license...
so realistically, give it 3 months average after the course to find a job....

Hi. Thank you very much for the reality check here and congrats on finding an employer. I like to ask also on the nursing condition there. How difficult is it to find a nrsg job there in Victoria? Coz here in Perth there is no opening in all public and private hospitals bec of the health budget cut and the wa economy is currently in bad shape. Only locals are being hired at the moment.
Aelith,
Thank you for all the information you have provided. I just have a question regarding the bridging programs of Victoria and Western Australia. The price of the bridging programs for those 2 states a significantly different. Why do you this is so? Also, where do you think is it a better state for me to take my bridging program in? Are there a lot of nursing vacancies all over australia as of the moment? I am afraid that after spending so much for the BP, I may end up jobless...
Thank you in advance! :)

hello, you said an agency will sponsor you, why you still have an upcoming interview? would you mind private messaging me the name of the agency? :) thanks.
so an average of two weeks is the registration processing?
are you intending to work in bendigo?
I think that would make the processing of your application faster. How do we write the stat declaration anyway?
yes i think so...so far those people who havent got an experience back home were asked for a stat declaration so maybe it would be better for you to submit it in advance before the nbv will ask you to do so...
it would be better for you to ask the nbv regarding the form that you will be using..cos here in australia we have a specific form in making a stat dec...i dont know in the philippines..maybe you have to see a lawyer...
a stat dec is a legal statement, for fomalisation, normally you must state that you havent got work experience and the reasons why and what did you do during those times when you were unemployed...etc.
