New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

Hello guys,

Do you think I can request for a recommendation letter even if I am still in an on going training? I plan on finishing my six-month training/volunteerism (currently on my 4th month); But I need a work statement for NBV. If I ask for a certificate of an ongoing training, or a recommendation letter, it is as good as informing them - I am about to leave, right? So no more chance of eventually getting hired.

Should I just declare a zero experience at my NBV application? What do you guys suggest?

Thanks

Whoaa!! dred ,chillhehe:D

Good thing you asked..I had a delay in my application at NMBWA for almost 3 weeks. They were not able to receive the document (verification) from the PRC sent thru Philpost. And yes, it will take time for them to get hold of your verification.

Definitely, you can ask them to look for another courier service. I did that myself too.

You can have LBC's service, the one located in front of DMC or you can opt for a courier of your choice. It can be a little pricey but you'll be left with no uncertainties when it comes to the receipt of your verification in 'due" time.

Hope this helps dred:D

.

hehehe, thanks, blinq!!! I am planning on using LBC, because Ive been using it for my mails to australia, and they're reliable...not taking my chance on Philpost..thanks again!!! :yeah::yeah::yeah:

i think nbv doesnt require work/volunteer exp, though some providers of the bridging course do

any1 here clear this up?

Thanks for the reply gast.

Yes, I don't think they require experience. Some posters here received a positive assessment even w/o experience, but i think they were first coursers. I am a 2nd courser. I need as much credentials as I can get. I think. :anbd:
