Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
hi chokocat and nykhouston..seems that everyone is being asked to submit additional papers..i hope my assessment letter would come soon so i would already know what else do they need. wheew, this july 2010 change seems very near..hehehe, by the way, are you already studying for the challenge test?
hi there terra! Well I am attempting to study already hehehe... I actually don't know where to start coz it seems that we have so much to cover! Have you studied already?
not yet..don't know where to start too..don't even have the study materials to begin with..lol:bugeyes: i'd like to make use of the time while im waiting for my assessment letter and besides, we will be rotating wards in the hospital, and thank God i'll be assigned in the most relaxing ward/station..how about you? where are you going to get those 4 recommended books? can't find it in the internet...
hi nykhouston. i think we received the same letter from qnc. the second paragraph refers to notarization. im not a second courser but i went to three nursing schools. i already requested them to provide me a copy of the course description including the total number of lecture hours for each subject? does theoretical breakdown of hours refer to lecture hours? qnc is asking for the detailed breakdown of theoretical hours. i i may be able to forward them these documents next week after having them notarized. good luck to us!!!
Hi Aelith, really? in just two months i should be able to register in NMBWA and find a sponsor by then?I hope i made the right decision....Thanks for the info Aelith
You will be able to register however, I can't assure you that you'll be successful with the sponsor. I really hope and pray that you will find a sponsor whilst studying. You have a year to try and find a sponsor... who knows you might find one soon enough
If you don't feel like doing the course anymore, you can still withdraw your enrollment and get a refund. You should double check it with them but that is possible.
:idea:Wow! eventhough i will spend extra 4000AUD for the english program i think i can have it back after working fulltime in 3months..![]()
But what would be my job during my english program?? can I work in a hospital or even in a home care facility??:icon_roll
Yes, you can pretty much gain whatever you've paid for the program.
You can get any job as long as you're qualified. You can try and work in a hospital or in a home care facility as an AIN. You can also apply for other jobs like odd jobs or admin jobs etc.
Aelith, I think Philippines is Assessment Level 2 if we will study Higher Education such as Bachelor, Associate Degrees, and yes you're right its just a 1 month processing...on the other hand, VET Courses is Assessment Level 3 which takes almost 2 months...and needs a show money good for 3 years.
Oh yes yes lol. I meant Assessment level 2 for higher and 3 for VEt lol Thanks for the correction... I'm still sleepy at that time.
Actually, I know of one person who applied for a VET course and had the visa after a few weeks - really lucky because his pva was issued after 5 days :)
Show money good for 2 years only for assessment level 3. What is needed is the full tuition fee and living expenses for 2 years plus airfare.
Aelith, does your MN leads to Registration as Nurse in NSW or in any other States? I asked this, because before Im also thinking of taking up Masters Degree in Nursing (in different University), however I found out (in their website) that it doesn't lead to Registration as Nurse....Thanks...
Yes it does. It is a pre-registration MN degree. Only 2 Universities in Australia offer this: University of Sydney and University of Melbourne. The Course is called Master of Nursing ((graduate entry) in USyd and Master of Nursing Science ( I think) in University of Melbourne.
Hi! I just wanna share my good news that is I have already received my assessment result from QNC and I just need to forward my IELTS score although I have done that after I submitted my documents to them. I have emailed them about this and still waiting for their reply. I was so worried with my documents -- the lawyer's notarization were stamped at the back of all my papers, I have zero experience and to think I graduated 2007. Thank God everything went well.. By the way, I snail mailed my documents sometime first week of March, got their receipt first week of April, and submitted my PRC good standing cert on April 23 and I received their letter today. =) Thank you for all the people who helped and continues to share their knowledge.
