Hello,I just graduated from nursing school and I was just offered an ER job at a very busy children's hospital. I really wanted to start off on a med-surg floor to get experience but there are no positions available anywhere. I got offered this jobs with some inside pull and don't really want to turn it down as I will probably be left without a job but I am very nervous about starting off as a new-grad in an ER.
What do you think I should do?
TAKE IT! You'll have your chance to go float in Med SUrg when you get in. I did my preceptorship in ED and loved every minute of it (12 HOur shifts). Good luck!
