New and excitted!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi! After two years of planning with my spouse and taking care of our finances, I am finally able to focus 100% on becoming a nurse! I am so excitted :-) I missed applying to nursing schools for this fall, (In Ohio most of them only start in August) so I will be taking preadmission classes until Jan of 06. I've narrowed down the schools of interest down to three. Then I'll start preparing my apps end of December. Any suggestions as I start all of this?

I really look forward to moving through the boards of pre-nursing, nursing student, becoming a nurse, my career, then graduate studies! I think being able to post and communicate with others going through the same journey can be a great support. Thanks and is there anybody else out there looking to apply to nursing school next Jan?

Welcome to allnurses!

Good luck with your application process! Are you taking any classes right now?

Thanks everyone :) Yes starting May I'll be taking science courses for the summer. I just realized today though for the one nursing program I am interested in, I can submit my application end of summer! It happens to be the nursing program at the hospital I worked as a medical programmer in cardiology clinical research for a number of years. (So yeah, its the one I want to go to the most :) ) Classes do not start until August however early admission is very appealing.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Dialysis.

Welcome aboard Seadreams! This is a great website, I am a pre-nursing student hoping to be accepted to the nursing program this Fall. I have found out a lot of information in regards to classes, tests, what to expect in clinicals, etc.

This website has also let me see that many other people are out there pursuing their goals. It gives me a lot of inspiration and makes me try harder.

I like relating with people that are going through the same experiences as myself. I have always worked in healthcare and feel that getting my RN is the next natural step in the process. I have a degree in business and originally wanted to stay on the administrative side of healthcare, but then I did some research and found out how amazing nursing can really be. I can't wait to start clinicals, pending my admission! The prereq sciences are a lot of work but they are so interesting and as hard as things get, I am still motivated to work hard!

Stay motivated and good luck! :)

So do you already have a degree in another field, Seadreams?

I quit my full-time job last year once we were finally able for me to pursue nursing school full-time... I remember how excited I was! Congratulations... :)
