New CPNE Date!

Published

I just checked my CPNE application on excelsior.com and the now scheduled me for March 28th @ St. Lukes! I had just gotten a packet last week to test February 29th at. St. Joseph's. I'm just about through the study guide. I wanted to read it all first and then start memorizing those critical elements! Anyone know how they are at St. Lukes? Thanks!

I applied the middle of October. So it was 2.5 months until I got a date.

What ....this means you would have a 5 month wait for a CPNE date. Didnt you apply in Nov

I did -- November 6th. I was figuring I'd have to wait most of November, all of December, all of January, and a little into February -- so three months, really. If I have to wait into March a little, that's four. At least, that's how I'm counting it. :)

Aegirl, I live in Virginia and want to drive to my CPNE, so I only applied to one site -- Mansfield. I'm sure I limited myself by doing that, but there it is. :) I probably could have applied to a couple of the NY sites as well, but ... eh. We'll see what happens. :)

I applied in August and got my date the day after Christmas. I test on March 28th also, at Gwinnett Medical Center, N. of Atlanta. Now I have to complete all this "busy work" that Gwinnett requires; Orientation, HIPPA module, Corporate Compliance Module, all with TESTS. They provide keys for the tests, but then I discovered that the keys had a bunch of mistakes!! :angryfire After all the NC tests, and the hoops you jump through to APPLY for the CPNE, it's a little disheartening to have to navigate an entire other set of requirements. Anyone have problems getting their 6-panel drug test done??

Specializes in ICU, PICC Nurse, Nursing Supervisor.

anyone recently apply for a date in plano or amarillo texas...wondering about the wait time.

I just put in my CPNE application for MPAC a few days ago and selected all the sites available (6 of them). I also put myself on cancellation list. They said about 8 months wait time to take the test........ previous posts you guys are saying they are getting about 5 month wait time...? i'm a little confused about that. Any clarification would be helpful because I would like to take the CPNE ASAP and not wait until September!

Thanks,

N8

Hello! I am also from Pennsylvania going to the CPNE at St Lukes on the 28th of March. Where in PA are you from? Did you go to any of the labs offered?

Mel ;)

I'm near Lancaster. How about you? Do you mean workshops? I went to Lynns.

Wow! I am in York. I went to Chancellors. Do you think that helped you get ready???

Did you PA people hear that there's a new CPNE site in Chambersburg? I think next weekend is the first CPNE there.

Yeah. I called Excelsior to see about switching because it's only 1.5 hours from me. But I'd have to pay another $800 for cancelling so late. They told me that next weekend is there trial weekend and that they would probably start scheduling people for April sometime soon, but i guess that haven't started that yet. Probably want to see how next weekend goes.

Specializes in LTC, Research.

Wow, that's only about 45 min from my mother, and 3.5 hours from me. I wonder if the addition of another site and the additional middle of the week testing days for the NPAC will speed up the process. One can only hope.

thanks for the tip,

Lisa
